I just went a purchased this. For under $200 out the door and it comes with three magazines, it is a deal that can't be beat.

I already have a SD9VE, along with an original pre- Clinton AWB ban SW9F (very few made before the ban) and a GWB era made SW9VE.

Extra 16rd SD9 magazines cost on average between $32-$42 a pop. So, I basically paid $125 for the gun and it is in better condition than my original SD9VE.

Knew there had to be someone else who actually liked the original Sigma. The SD9 looks to be a worthy and high quality successor.
Funny thing is, I am a GLOCK guy. But the Sigma does get a bad rap. It is better than how people describe it, especially for the time. Mine was made right before the Clinton AWB went into effect. If I were broke and trying to buy a capable standard capacity 9mm pistol before the ban went into effect and it was the choice between the Sigma or the GLOCK and money was tight. The Sigma for the win!

Also, the Sigma is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR BETTER than my HK VP70Z. That thing is horrible.

Congratulations. Seems like a great deal. I always liked the feel of them, but I've not had the chance to own or shoot one. I had a friend that had one (I can't remember which version) when I went to visit and I got to handle it extensively.

They're pretty much replicating the pull of a modern S&W J-Frame double action trigger in a semi-auto. If you can shoot double action wheel guns, you can shoot a Sigma. The biggest gripe folks have with Sigmas is the trigger. They're not refined triggers by any means, but they're passable for bargain basement priced guns. They're reliable and shot at what you aim at.

I have one in .40 that I don't hate but all my friends do. I don't think the trigger pull is bad, just long (as is the reset). Did put MCarbo springs and a Galloway trigger on it.
Got to shoot a well worn sigma 9 and TBH I couldn't tell any difference.
An sd9ve for $175 with 3 mags is a good deal. Maybe people bashing them helps keep the price down?

I have a SW9VE Sigma, and while it's true the trigger isn't he best, I can shoot it pretty good.
I like the looks and feel of it. It's a keeper

I’m 100% looking for a Sigma in .40 for under $175!

I've shot the SW40VE guns and never liked 'em. And I'm a .40 S&W fan and love my GLOCKs in it. But for some reason, the Sigmas in .40 S&W never did it. But in 9mm, they're great guns.
wish they would take a .40, stretch out the case, put more powder in it. Then Put it in A Colt 1911!

Glock 23 G3 was my 1st real pistol I bought with my own $$$

Under $200 would definitely get my attention.

Hulliva deal, but at that price I'd sure run the numbers on that thing !

I personally LOVE those pre-ban Clinton guns. My brother was telling stories of big “cap” mags selling for $100+, primers were $100/1000, … everything was just NUTZ.

Very happy we are not forgetting history. The reason today’s gun culture is so AMAZING and people are hording everything is because history ALWAYS repeating itself. BUY BUY BUY BUY

Knew there had to be someone else who actually liked the original Sigma.

The ORIGINAL Sigma EARNED it's reputation as a POS, they were truly one of the worst guns ever made. The originals were only made for a year or so and had all sorts of problems.

I bought one and it went back to S&W 3 times, and I never made it through a box of ammo. The gun simply wouldn't reset and fire after 4-5 shots were fired through it. This was about the time they introduced the 2nd gen pistols and they were heavily discounting the originals. The whole ordeal took about 5 months. After the 3rd failure I returned it and insisted on a replacement with one of the newer 2nd gen pistols.

S&W agreed, and when the new gun showed up, I took the unfired gun back to the shop where I bought the 1st one. The shop owner allowed me exactly what I paid for the 1st gun in trade for a Glock.

By all accounts the later guns are much improved. But the whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth, and I could never bring myself to try another.

I ASSUME the new SD pistols are very similar to the Sigma. But I have no experience with those. Never heard anything bad about them either.
