Suggestions? I’m thinking a 30 caliber upper; 7.62x39 or ???
If you are worried about the cracked reciever issue that is common with poly lowers then you might as well limit yourself to 22lr. Still, a 22lr in a pistol format would be a lot of fun. Thanks everyone for your thoughts. A pistol is a good idea since the buffer tube attachment area is a weak point on the polymer lowers. I'm thinking about a "How cheaply can I finish this into a functional firearm?" build.
Bear Creek Arsenal. Complete uppers in 7.62x39 with either side or rear chargers for $250. They are putting the enhanced firing pins in the new ones to deal with steel cased ammo. I'm waiting on one of their uppers now.I milled this polymer lower about 7 years ago and forgot I had it. I have to build it now. Obviously I don’t want to put a whole lot of $ in it.
