Fort Scott Ammunition

Today I saw some Fort Scott 223 ammunition advertised as ‘solid copper’. I opened up the box to look. The bullet seating depths were all over the place. One round had been pushed into the case at least 1/4”. I showed the young girl working and told her she should take it off the shelf as this could be potentially dangerous. I briefly explained why but I could tell it went right over her head. It’s likely that as soon as I left, the box went right back on the shelf and the rest of the lot never got checked.
Be careful out there.

@Barbaroja , you’re right. Edited to remove reference to the legality of the copper bullet. The point was the setback.

The GCA defines “armor piercing ammunition” as:
“(i) a projectile or projectile core which may be used in a handgun and which is constructed entirely (excluding the presence of traces of other substances) from one or a combination of tungsten alloys, steel, iron, brass, bronze, beryllium copper, or depleted uranium; or
(ii) a full jacketed projectile larger than .22 caliber designed and intended for use in a handgun and whose jacket has a weight of more than 25 percent of the total weight of the projectile.”

I'd buy their primers if they were available if not at gouge prices.

Well its not "larger than 22" and not intended for a pistol, but there are plenty of solid copper bullets available to be loaded in handguns.
