My father-in-law has a 1903A4 with issue scope in unissued condition.
He bought it years ago Its a Remington Serial#3417XXX with a M73B1 scope made by Weaver. The front sight is not mounted and its in good shape. My father-in-law believes it was unissued. The barrel is marked RA 12-43. So anyone have any idea what it could be worth. I was going to clean up the stock it is still stained with cosmoline. A screw or 2 are missing would it hurt the value if I replaced them. Any comments would be welcome.

So anyone have any idea what it could be worth.
You could ask somewhere around $3,000 - $4,000+ and might get an offer or two if it is unissued/pristine. Maybe more from the right collector.

Photos? Please :)

Depends on whether it's an M1903A4 or and M1903A3 dressed to look like and A4. We'd need a view of the receiver markings.

30cal. I will have a camera working soon, but comparing the 1903A3 to the possible A4 the US Remington model 03 A3 is engraved on the left hand side of the receiver touching the vent hole the serial number is on the other
side of the scope mount. It has a C type or pistol grip stock.

So the US and name is seperated by the scope mount from the serial number, whereas the regular A3 has the name centered on the receiver. I hope this helps until I get the camera going.

You should have seen my friend almost cry when I showed him my 03A4 that I had cut the barrel back to 16 inches and installed a Bishop stock.

I told him, give me a break the rifle only cost $14.50 brand new.:D

Thats great M2. My father-in-law said that his friend bought 4 many years ago when they were dirt cheap and gave one to my inlaw. He carried a 1903A3 in WW2.
