I found a Ranger double barrel in a box in my shop. No stock/forearm just the barrel and reciever. In good shape 12 ga. 30" barrels with double triggers. It says Ranger on one side and Pat. Apr. 20-1915 on the other. Serial # 6 96 80
Who made this one? Any info appreciated...THANKS

Hopkins & Allen

Head to the web and search on "Hopkins & Allen double" and you'll probably find them. Great guns, but that's all I can tell you. It's not one I collect.

Might need pictures to really ID this. It seems several manufacturers, including Stevens (later Savage) made Ranger labeled guns.
If it's a Stevens it may be pretty easy to get it stocked. Also would be good to know if it has the forend iron or not.

My partner said it might be a Stevens, so I have to agree with 35Rem....but he also says the date listed should have been on a Stevens 315 which wasn't a Ranger gun. The Stevens Ranger double was apparently the 311.

Kitt, head to gunbroker and search on "stevens 311" and on "stevens 315". See if any of those match yours?

Ranger is a Sears, Roebuck brand name applied to shotguns made for them by various manufacturers.
