I have been looking for one of these since they announced them earlier this year. Finally found one at a LGS, NIB for $299, which is a great deal for what you get.

This 10/22 is set up almost perfectly IMO. It has the Ruger American stock with interchangeable buttstock modules (one standard height for irons, one with a raised comb for optics), picatinny rail for mounting optics, a rear ghost ring sight mounted on the receiver instead of the barrel, an 18.5" cold hammer forged stainless barrel, 1/2X28 threaded barrel with flash hider, and the 50th anniversary stampings on the receiver and bolt.

I ordered a Volquartsen TG2000 complete 2lb trigger group. The trigger housing is aluminum vs. plastic, and all components are match grade. Now I've got to decide on an optic.

This was a quick shot I took when I got home. I will try to get a better one today.

I bought one the week they came out. I paid a few bucks more than you did, but oh well. I actually haven't even fired it yet, but I loaned it to a new shooter at an Appleseed marksmanship clinic a couple weeks ago, and she did well with it. Some complain about how the sights require tools to adjust, but when you get down to it, so do Tech Sights. The only real complaints I have about it are with the interchangeable comb and the scope mount. On the interchangeable comb for raised optics, the raised part is way too far to the rear for me to use... when I'm in position with it, my cheek bone is well forward of the raised part, with it uncomfortably digging into the back of my jaw bone. Also, the factory scope mount doesn't allow me to get an optic far enough forward to get proper eye relief. I'm not a particularly big or long-necked guy, either... probably on the short side of average. Like many factory rifles these days, it appears that the designers intended it to be shot off a bench instead of from field positions. Oh well, I doubt it will ever be used with anything but iron sights in my use. I like the threaded muzzle feature... even though some people think it's bull tits to put a flash hider on a .22, I find that it is mainly useful as a muzzle protector. Also I will probably be getting a .22 suppressor one of these days soon, and it will be nice to have a ready-made host. Along with being a great marksmanship training rifle, this should make a superb squirrel assassination machine. The GSR type sights give it a great sight picture.
