Shame on you guys with all the talk about wheelguns and the Taurus talk. Now you've got me doing it!

A few years ago, I bought a Taurus M85 lightweight .38. Well, my wife 'confiscated' that one as her carry piece.

Today, I was at my local 'crack' dealer (aka gun dealer) and he shows me one I just couldn't resist. I'll pick it up this pm. (He KNEW what he was doing!)

It is a Taurus snubby wheelgun DAO-in moon clip 9MM! Nice looking little pocket revolver. Really compact.

Anybody who wants to tell me your experiences or provide any info, have at it. I'd appreciate it.

Congratulations, Its a nice piece. Be very careful so that you don't bend those stellar clips accidentally. The gun should have come with 5 of them. I have found better success with Sellier & Bellot and Fiocchi 9mm than I have with Walmart bulk Winchester and Remington. It may have to do with the primers, but I cannot be 100% sure, I had several misfires with the Winchester bulk, but switched to S&B and Fiocchi, without a hickup. Enjoy your new piece.

Yeah I was minding my own business not hurting a soul looking around in a gun shop...an M44 followed me home!

a few points...

treat the stellar clips like gold; they are not the strongest design and can bend really easily of mishandled...

start a search and get as many as you can get or afford to get; they become a commodity; eg: I had a Taurus 455 snub in .45 acp and couldn't find any spares...seems Taurus stopped making them; I later traded it on a Beretta 92

BTW: spotted another Taurus 455 snubby recently in excellent condition...guess what was missing...yep, the damned stellar clips; the shop owner thinks he can 'order' them from Taurus...good luck on that one; if the previous owner doesn't cough up the original set, I imagine that the shop owner will have to either severely reduce the asking price of the gun or will have to bury the gun in his vault pending arrival of replacement clips (like that'll ever happen!!!)

that is the truth, BUT I found that two loaded clips fit nicely in a medium size medacine bottle.

That's a cool gun and no longer offered.

I got a whole pile of moon clips for my 1917 Smith and Wesson I had for a while. Don't remember where I ordered them, but they were cheap and very well made. Wonder if you could find something aftermarket for the Taurus that would work????

Fired 'baby' this am. Functions perfectly with OR WITHOUT moon clips. Smooth DA trigger pull. Accuracy is fine for what it is. Little sucker is a bit 'snappy'. I like it!

Anybody know what the model number of the lil thing is? NO model markings on it anywhere!

I notice that the cylinder is about 1/4" shorter than the one in my wifes M85 .38 special AND the barrel is also about 1/4" shorter-only 1 3/4" long. VERY compact.

Wonder why they stopped making them?

905s were stopped as a production item as they did not sell well. Whether this is because of pistol bias or other reasons it's hard to tell.
Most people seem used to or find .38 Special revolvers are what they favor and know.

It's hard for a pistol cartridge revolver to make it into an established revolver cartridge market.

Doesn't mean it has to be that way. Just the way things are.

For revolver carry one can carry back up ammo in more ways with Bianchi SpeedStrips, speedloaders, or in cartridge loops two by two. As posted elsewhere at this forum recently, there are .38 Special speedloader holders that hold the cartridges 3 at a time on each siide of the belt. Thus making the reloads more concealable. Dillion Blue Book catalog usually has them in it.
Nothing wrong with the 905 or it's clip system.
