i was bored and looked into local pawn shop with a friend today and for a model 94AE inalmost mint condition perfect blue no dings ont he forarms looked like it had been shot about 1 time then cleaned/oiled and put away

the only problem is someone cut down the stock by about 4 inches, my guess is for a kid, what would it cost to have a new stock put on by a gun smith, i would rather pay and get it done better than i could to the fitting

how much of the value would that knock off?

what would i beable to get for it after the new stock? 350? 400?

94 stocks are relatively easy to come by. You may be able to find one relatively cheap; depends on the model of 94. Is it nice wood or a base model (Ranger)? I've picked up stuff like that on eBay, if you can stomach eBay.

If you don't want to look too hard, you can get this one in walnut with hard buttplate, $65 from Cabela's. It may take a little fitting, but with a separate buttstock like a 94 has, that's not a really big deal.

Worst case, then, you get a 99% condition 94 for $235 and a little sanding.

Hard to say what you can get for it. Might depend on how well the wood matches. It'd sure be worth it if you want one to shoot, though.

the way the wood was it would be hard to match so i think i would be best off sanding it and staining them both an inbetween color to match

i was really surprised i couldnt find a stock from numrich
