Winchester Model 94 30/30

I stopped by one of my favorite pawn shops this morning and found an older Model 94. The blueing was in good condition and the stock was in good shape. I was thinking about buying it and customizing it as far as putting a big loop lever and ghost ring sight. Would I be messing up a classic or is it a feasible platform for some custom work?

If it's a pre-64, I would leave it alone for collector value. If it's post 64, customize to your heart's content!

Add the ghost ring sight, by all means. But why would you want a big loop lever? It has no functional application, outside of Hollywood.

If you want to re-sell the rifle later, just plug the screw holes for the ghost sight with filler screws.
