Found out I can’t shoot in the woods, But they do have a good wild life managed rifle range in lake city also they got a good place In St. Augustine with both places minimal requirements to enter but with still good rules. Might one of these places sometime this summer.

Lake city is a pretty good range. No dedicated rso, but we've never had a problem. Definitely a bring everything range. I havent been able to check out salt waters in St. Augustine.
Haven’t checked both out yet but both seem good also have good reviews.

Why can't you shoot in woods?

I’ll update everyone on how my first range visit turns out later on this summer maybe. I just wanted to be safer then sorry hence called information. Oh I’m sure my first range visit would end up being good!

Evidently Michigan and Kentucky are far west now...

State land use varies with the state it’s located in.
In Michigan we can use any National Forest, State forest or hunting area for shooting, except during hunting season.

Obviously, a state park is public land on which one cannot shoot, but when I’m on the beach of Lake Michigan in Grand Haven I prefer to be swimming, on the Rails-to-Trails I’d rather be biking...:D

You guys are cracking on my comment but you have not answered the question. WHY? Treat me like **** but you cant even answer the simple question.

Hey, friend, not at all.

I was making light that midwestern states can’t shoot in BLM areas, as you and I both head off to the woods, right?
The “Mid-West” is huge and much of it friendly to shooting. Kansas and Nebraska are still the Mid-West.

Some states don’t allow it.
Florida may be one, the woods are sparse, the humans are not. I don’t live there.
It’s every shooters personal responsibility to know the laws in their area before they head to the “woods”, just as it is to be safe when they are there.

Now.
If you feel slighted in any way, because inflection is hard to read in text. Or if you feel I may be mistaken, misspoken, dull or ruthless, feel free to report or quote me.

I have absolutely no qualms about anything I say in public, as this forum is. And will stand by it, asterisks and all.
