Some of you may remember a thread I posted a while back asking the value of some inherited reloading supplies/equipment
http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=468038

Well I found some more in storage... any idea what it's worth? I don't plan to sell it (except perhaps the shotgun reloading stuff; I have no plans to reload for shotguns).

4 lbs sealed can herco, 3 lbs sealed can Red dot, a bunch of 'vintage' ammo boxes, some paper hulls, some loaded Super X paper cartridges, bunch of various casings, quite a few boxes of old-type paper shotshell wads... do people even use those anymore?

Is the herco and red dot powder useful in pistols? I know some people use clays for loading handgun ammo and was curious if this will work also.

Thanks for any info.

I haven't seen the cardboard powder containers (4831) since the 1950's. You sure have some intage stuff there.

I've loaded Red Dot in 380 acp, 38, 357 and 45 Colt. Both it and Clays are good handgun powders.

The box of Western paper hulls will be worth a few bucks to a collector, especially if it is full. You can usually sell or trade that stuff at gun shows.

BTW, from what I've read the no 97 primers are the same size as 209, but apparently the opening in the front causes people to have trouble with them using fine grained powders, and people say you have to use large flake powders (like Red Dot) to ensure reliability... anyone here know anything? The hole in the front of the primers seems nice and small to me... about the size of a pinhole.
