Perhaps I did something wrong in my past life.

After careful study...

It seems there _IS_ a bolt that fits almost all my requirements..

Coming in a little over 6lbs, but with a 19.68" barrel, instead of a 16" barrel like the Ruger M77 MkII..

But of course, you can't buy one except for special order in the US.. I have no idea how "special" the order will be, or the cost :( :( :(

You're in Taiwan anyways..... moot point. Never did understand Taiwan's lack of guns. If I was under threat of invasion by China I'd be ISSUEING everyone guns!

Who makes that.... Sako?

Then problem is, even when I return to the states, I can't buy it.

Made by Sako, designed by some Italian, imported by Beretta..

errr.. not imported by Beretta...

Wouldn't you think if Red China was breathing on your neck hairs, manditory gunownership would be the norm?

Yes, one would think that. Apparently they're taking their lead from our illustrious Democrats here in the US!

Actually that rifle is a Tikka. I'd rather it be a Sako, but it isn't. Yes, I know they are both Sako concerns which are both owned by Beretta, but the engineering on the rifle lines is different.

Original design was the Sako "Battue". Really a nice .308 in a light-weight 19" carbine. Made for about a year and imported in the middle 90's. Mine has a pretty nice piece of wood.

May be it isn't the intentions of the mainlanders the Taiwan powers to be are worried about.
Well if they're not, they are going to deserve what they are going to get. When? Sooner rather than later. It's just a matter of time before China is united under that big red flag! The minute China feels we (USA),would not have the stomach to fight, they will be all over Taiwan. Battle would probably last about 4 hours. It would be over before we could do anything. :uhoh:

I seriously doubt the "attack" will ever happen.

First, Taiwan has ZERO resources... The asset is the people. All the factories have moved to China, so there's no "technology" here that they don't have there.

The problem is places like GwanTzo and Hsamen and places like that in China, where there are tens of thousands of factories.. they are all owned by Taiwanese people. Attack Taiwan, all Taiwanese get recalled, and China's entire economy collapses.

The attack on Taiwan will probably last 40 minutes, Taiwan has 3 main ports, and that's it.

But at the same time, in those 40 minutes, China's economy will drop by 90%.

So what? China might not care.. doubt that.. The people have tasted capitalism, they are like vampires now..

As for the gun, a little over 6lbs, and has fiberoptic sights. And Tikkas are as smooth as a baby's butt..
