About four weeks til opening of my second favorite hunting season. No license, any weapon, no limit.
Morel mushrooms.
Best side for those venison chops, steaks or backstraps sitting in the freezer.
Down on my acreage we are due for a boom year.

I never got a real liking for mushrooms. I mean, if they are in spaghetti I’ll eat them. But that’s bout it. Maybe the reason is I ain’t been around a connoisseur that could cook them well. I’m interested in learning about them though.

Morels are different! My son can't stand mushrooms either, but put fried Morels in front of him and you have to beat him away. I was amazed the 1st time I had fresh morels.

You want to put the little fungi in a mesh bag so the spores will spread as you walk. A shell bag is ideal. Farmer knows his stuff.
