Haven't used either.

I've heard that this stuff called Freeze +P works really well(dropped a dude's girlfriend's drunk step dad in his tracks.)

Personally I've only sprayed dogs, and they didn't want any of it.

i bought sabre red, for the g/f. i've used it on dogs, coyotes, and myself, to test it. the animals don't care for it, and neither do i, but i don't think it'll stop someone whacked on meth. she carries a stun gun and a knife as well; i'm trying to get her to carry a j-frame S&W.

"pepper spray? sounds delicious....auuugh!!! i was wrong, i was horribly wrong!!!!"

Sabre Red based on my personal experience, which leads me to prefer the stream pattern, reach, and spray nozzles of the Sabre Red v. Fox Labs in the personal size cans.

Keep in mind valid comparisons between chemical agents are tough, because truly objective comparisons are few and far between, especially when factoring items such as stream shape, different ways of calculating OC content, and ergonomics come into play.YMMV, esp. based on your personal preferences.

That said, when I carry a stream-based chemical and want to minimize the possibility of contamination beyond the person who invited me to spray them, I use Sabre Red in the baton keychain. In most other circumstances I prefer Cap-Stun Z-305, which comes out in a nice cone pattern and has a better respiratory/lacrimating/irritant effect.

Pffft, just found out my mom carries the Sabre Red stuff.

I hope it's good.

Ive carried Sabre Red for 3 years as a security officer and Ive only had 1 person that it hasnt affected. He was immune to OC spray.

armored man , if sabre red blows so bad why are agencies going to the formulation after saying their current spray is too weak?

Easy answer - TASER. See, some inmate in Florida got hosed with a petroleum based spray like LE-10, and then hit with a Taser, and he ignited. Oops. Thing is, this happened ONCE. I have personally seen inmates who were hosed with LE-10, and zapped, who just fell over, and one guy who proved to be immune to OC and Taser. (Yes, he was, took 4 shots, just made him madder than anything. He gave up because he was getting tired. I saw it.)
So, the Admin wet thier collective pants at the thought of a lawsuit from an inmate family over one of thier darlings doing the human torch impression, regardless of how incredibly unlikely it was to ever happen, and we dumped the LE-10 for the water based Sabre Red - a snake oil salesman inside the Dept arranged that one. Even the Technology Committee recognized later we "oopsed", but have to wait until the contract is over before we can replace the seasoning in a can with something a little bit better.
Sabre Red can work, but instead of a 1-2 second burst, it's a one to two can burst, to be effective. I can say it isn't very effective because we use it quite often, and the LE-10 was far better.

Body Guard Hi-Power 3.0% Capsaicinoid Content

I prefer Body Guard Hi-Power 3.0% Capsaicinoid Content (different than % of Oleoresin Capsicum [pepper spray] and SHUs). Sabre Red is only 1.34%, varies depending on what test there is. FoxLabs is only 0.7% Capsaicinoid Content. I say that I enjoy Hi-Power because when I spray the different brands in a room or eat the stuff, the Hi-Power is always more potent on the tongue and in the air.

hey armoedman so you mean that sabre sucks and LE10 is better how can that be. the sabre you use is it the water based instead of oil one? that can matter in how it great its works right?

Freeze +p is OC + CN, and it's pretty effective, but it's also illegal for citizens to own in a couple states...

where can you get that stuff, "GuywithQuestions"?

Sounds interesting.

Man, I wish the companies would post the chemistries of their sprays on the bottle, so I could read it.

Freeze +p is OC + CN

Freeze + P is 1% O.C. and 1% CS - No CN. Makes a difference in effectiveness, lethality, and legality in some states.

The Defense Spray manufacturers keep a lot of secrets by calling things "proprietary blends" and other similar nomenclature.

Oil based or water based carrier really makes no difference in effectiveness.

Fox. My little brother used his to escape a mugging and reports that it worked very well.

As I have posted before, I carry First Defense X2. The bad guys hate it and the students I certify are not too fond of it either.

i carry both i carry a sabre red MK6 stream and a Fox Labs Mk4 fog . There are alot of number games to be played and i wont say what is right or wrong . But take the two cans and get sprayed with each a week apart. They are both horrible , horrible beasts . But Fox labs will kick in faster and will burn hotter . i dont care what the number guys say or do . Its as simple as taste test to get the answer you seek.

wow pretty impressive... bet this stuff takes a hour plus to decon from though . If you are lucky enough to be just training with it and not the mugger rolling around in the street.
