I just want to put this out there for anyone looking at an easy way to deprime. I did probably 3000 casings the past 2 days just sitting on my couch with the frankford arsenal handheld decapper. Its no mess and super easy. Works on military brass also. Just wanted to let yall know about something that lets me work with ammo away from the press.

Same here...

When I'm processing brass, I sit on the couch and de-cap when my wife and I watch TV. I also hand inspect the brass for issues if I'm processing random pick-up range brass.

And I have the same problem with an occasional "rogue spent primer that bounces out of the tube."

The worst thing of depriming in the living room with the FA hand depriming tool is when the little primer cup works loose and drops several dozen filthy primers in you lap. It’s nearly impossible to get out of the recliner without throwing primers across the room, and a few fall down into the mechanism...to be found three months later when the foot rest won’t go down. Fun times.
Still, one of my better hand tools...and my tool of choice when bulk decapping brass...even mixed calibers!

Here's another vote in favor of the FA hand depriming tool. I don't use it in the house, however. I keep all my dirty brass in the garage, and I decap it and walnut tumble it out there too, and bring only the cleaned brass in the house. My thinking is that I'm keeping the residual lead dust out of the house, at least a little bit.

Purchased one last fall along with the Frankford Hand Prime. Decided the hand deprime part wasn't for me as my sammich clamp has seen emergency room attention multiple times and isn't what it once was. Truthfully deprime/size on a single stage in the designated reloading area offers less distraction for me anyways.

Another vote for the hand deprimer. I like to deprime and clean the brass before it sees the press. I got tired of cleaning all that grit and grime off the press.
