I was thinking about getting A loc n load ap. Can someone tell me if the 230 grain Hornady HP/XTP bullets they are giving away very good for reloading. It is hard to believe they would give $289 worth of free bullets without there being something wrong.

Is this the way to go or just Go blue.

Thats the way I went and I am getting some .44 240Grn xtp's
when I reloaded for my .45 it always shot the 230grn xtp's the best:)

They are great bullets, but I would hoard them back and buy something cheaper for plinking.

Welcome to THR.

Hornady XTP's are superb in every respect. That said, once gone they're gone...not the case for the press. Just speaking for myself, unless I really preferred the LNL, I wouldn't be swayed too much by the offer but if you do, so much the better. Even if you did'nt want the bullets you'd have no trouble getting rid of them.

Thanks, ya tease. I was at half-mast right after I read that. :D

Welcome to THR!

Any chance you can get your hands on one before you buy? Does anyone you know have one that you can play with? The free bullets sure make it sound like a good deal.

Agree with the above posters here. XTPs are sweet, love them.

Took down a big michigan doe with a 44-cal 240gr XTP this year out of a taurus revolver. Very impressive wound track it left behind, especially on the exit side. The 9mm's are the other bullet I love. Accurate, and I'm confident they'd perform as expected on game/bad guys.

Buy a Hornady LNL AP, get 1000 free bullets.. You get to choose from a subset of their total bullet range. I would guess that the hornady web site has details. I believe the program is called 'get loaded'.

Richard, You have to buy one of their reloading machines........ Then you get the bullets. Good deal who knows all depends on what your looking for! I do love their .45APC 230 gr, JHP XTP bullets, loaded on my XL-650

Better hurry! The flyer I received in my new lnl ap was not 230 grn for the 45 acp. They are downsizing grn's in all the bullets I had interest in for 2009. I'll have to find the flyer and let you know the new size.

I recently bought the LNL press and received my 1,000 XTP .44 bullets in about 2 weeks. The value of the bullets almost matched the price I paid for the press. I like mine and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new progressive press.

Hope this helps.

Fred

.357 is going to be 110 GR, 44 CAL 180 GR and 45 CAL 185 (all XTP) for the new year with this offer.

At least last year at this time, they are giving away bullets with any major Hornady purchase starting with 50 bullets for a die set. The qty of bullets went up as the purchase price got higher. I think that still applies.

I gave my son a set of dies for his 357 and he got some free bullets not long afterward. So he got a gift on Christmas and another in January. He was loving that!
