Free Float or Glass Bed?

I don't know much about either, tell me if I'm right. Free floating, there is no material touching the barrel to create pressure points againist the barrel. Glass Beding creates the same pressure on the barrel all the way thru the stock, is this correct?

You can have a glass bedded action with a free floated barrel. You can have a glass bedded action and barrel. Personally, I prefer my barrels to be free floating.

Glass bedding usually refers to the action being bedded with an bedding compound, and the barrel is usually free floated.

I asked this a while ago because I always heard light barrels should be bedded, and heavy barrels should be free floated. Here is the thread that resulted:

As for glass bedding the barrel it will depend on the barrel. Some like to be free floated while others like to be bedded. Use some plastic shim stock between the barrel and stock to see if it likes to be bedded, if so then bed but more than likely it will not, also do not put too much pressure on the barrel.
