Mods, I hope this is ok to post here. I am in no way affiliated with Front Sight, I just think this is a fantastic opportunity some of our members might be interested in...

I know this is legit, as I have already received my certificate in the mail. Front Sight is giving away certificates for their four day courses, and all you have to do is post their links on your personal or business web site, and agree to keep them up for three years. These certificates don't expire, by the way, and are valued at $2000.

Here is a link to the details...

This is indeed legit, as I've just done it.

Having attended a frongsight class previously, I'd say the handgun class I took was pretty decent, especially if you're getting a free cert out of it. I'm hoping to take the carbine or shotgun class with the one I just got.

My respect for GAO has gone down several notches. These are not "free." You have to shill for a group that's been the subject of monumental lawsuits and has a very bad rep for selling people pie in the sky "memberships." If you go down there, grip your wallets tight. In fact just don't bring any money. Or pens.

Cosmo i beleive it was 3-4 people, out of 4000+ members. What major company hasn't been sued?

Memberships are offered for people who want more training, pay 2 grand for a session or pay 2 grand and go back as often as you wish. Your just pissed about the frontsite alaska thing, which was offered to its members at frontsite neveda, go to nevada a few times, pay for a membership there, then get into frontsite alaska. Thats how they want to do business, and thats fine with me. They are a pro 2A, RKBA company, with great training. If you don't agree with how they run their business, thats fine, but i don't see the need to tear into them when you have (A)not been there and (B)Are stating all your facts from secondhand information.

Lets take "the High Road" here and stop acting like a child that didn't get the candy he wanted.

Oh and buy "not free" cosmo means you still have to pay for the background check, which is $50. So your only saving $2000 on your total cost of attending, not including room and board, ammo, etc. Yea so its really not free, just a smoking deal.

Frontsight Alaska? You mean the woodlots they've got up here? The stink is rising off the whole operation. If you go for this deal--GUARD YOUR WALLET. The good "doctor" needs money for the settlement of the last round of lawsuits. I have no respect for a man who sells "memberships" for hundreds of thousands of dollars with the mere promise of land ownership. For that he'd better be giving people a DEED to properly set up subdivision lots.

And I'm sorry, but TWO GRAND for a course? For that they'd better be bringing Col Cooper back from the dead to give guest lectures.

Don't start quipping about "taking the high road." Part of this forum includes calling out the wheelers and dealers. Everything I've read about this operation sets off the old "WATCH OUT" alarms.

you have (A)not been there

They won't let me go there. I have to pay through the nose for a Nevada membership and prove my worth to them before they'll let me come back up here to go to what they claim is a first rate training facility. But I suspect after dropping all those thousands on the scheme "Front Sight Alaska" would end up being a pale shadow to Birchwood--a huge facility where yearly memberships cost a little over a C note. I suspect they don't want locals to go to Front Sight Alaska because we know better than the rich boys they trick down in Nevada.

As far as this deal--if you have to dedicate space on a website for years that's a valuable service. You're not getting anything for free. And the fact that they claim it's free just reinforces my opinion about the way they do business. Free is supposed to mean free. As in, you're not required to do anything or to buy anything in exchange.
