Got this in the newsletter from the 2nd amendment march.
The Second Amendment March is proud to announce we are partnering with Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, www.frontsight.com a world-renowned personal defense school located near Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Ignatius Piazza, Four Weapons Combat Master and Founder and Director of Front Sight, has graciously offered to support the Second Amendment March by backing up his words with his money.

Dr. Piazza is a patriot and believes so strongly in the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and the Second Amendment March that he is offering a FREE Two-Day Defensive Handgun course to any person who supports or attends the Second Amendment March in Washington DC or any of the 50 State Capitol Marches. Upon attending the DC March or any of the 50 State Capitol Marches you will receive a certificate redeemable for a Front Sight Two Day Defensive Handgun Course with no expiration date! That's right! You heard me correctly. We're talking about a $1,000 Two-Day Defensive Handgun Course at world-class Front SightFirearms Training Institute FREE OF CHARGE simply for supporting the Second Amendment March! How can any patriotic American justify not supporting the Second Amendment March with an offer like that?

But wait! Dr. Piazza isn't done! If you can't make it to the DC March or any of the 50 State Capitol Marches to take advantage of this great offer, then read further... Dr. Piazza will extend this offer to any person who donates $100 to the Second Amendment March in the next 30 days! That's how serious he is about the Right to Keep and Bear Arms! Please don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Go now to www.frontsight.com to learn all about the classes Front Sight offers. This is a $1,000 class simply for supporting the Second Amendment March!
Once again, thank you Dr. Piazza and Front Sight Firearms Training Institute for your generosity.

What do THR members think of Frontsight? Seems to me like $100 (or $100 in gas to get to the march) for $1,000 of training is a good bargain.

I've taken Front Sight's 4 Day Defensive Handgun course and I look forward to returning for more classes in the future. While I agree that the whole Real Estate scheme seems fishy, I've gone there solely for the training, which is top notch. I feel I've gotten more than my money's worth for the training and I just ignore the "other stuff".
They pack a lot (a little too much) into the 4 day class, and the 2 day class is a somewhat condensed version with several sessions stripped out. So I assume it will be an intense course - but for $100 it's highly worth it, IMO.

And that was a rather crass comment about the tragic accident on the zipline...

I got them to send me their free DVD a while ago. Pretty tempting offer and the training facility looks great. However, I did further research and discovered multiple lawsuits including multimillion dollar class action lawsuit filed against them. Also, if you do your research you will find a few other hidden costs and some serious safety concerns.

Check the fine print. If Front Sight goes under, your lifetime membership won't be worth the paper it's sold on.

Crew, you may wanna fix your links. It's all directing to one URL. I copied and pasted but you could make it easier to access those sites.

If it was a lot closer I likely would be a member. Regards lawsuits/complaints. There will always be folks who want more. IIRC some of the loudest admitted they had taken more then thier moneys worth in training. (and were still taking courses)
The zip line thing. A temp employee didn't follow procedure and someone got killed. IIRC they had to raise a platform to remove folks from zip line. As it was a special event/lots of folks the zip line was running constantly. One new guy signaled for next person to go when platform was still up and person ran into it/died.
It does seem 90% PLUS have never been there that hate it. Its not as fancy a place as it was hoped to be.

Gee where were all these comments when I asked for opinions/news of Front Sight? Anyway, I attend a free two day course May 15th on a gift certificate my buddy got from his brother.
Time will tell on the site and course quality.

The lawsuits over memberships and that stupid scientology thing are old news and have nothing to do with the quality of the training at Front Sight. There are no "hidden" costs. The only thing considered one by some is the once a year background check for $50, which I'm happy to pay.
And I don't know what "safety concerns" you could referencing besides that tragic accident on the zipline, which was just that: an accident. They happen everywhere and all the time. If you consider the volume of students that have gone through Front Sight over the past 10+ years and that being their only significant event, and also consider it wasn't firearms related, I would call that a pretty good safety record. The event was no less tragic.
Now, when I went I was beyond impressed with their safety protocols and range procedures. They are very well rehearsed and orchestrated. When I went about half the class had never even held a handgun in their lives and I felt far safer training with them than I do at my local range. Even the "Night Shoot", where we did everything in pitch blackness, I was nervous for some of the people around me, but the range masters and instructors were on top of everyone.
The latest offer of a free 2 day course (or $100 if you can't make the march) is a great opportunity for people to check the place out for themselves.

I've taken the 2 day course (along with several friends who took the 4 day), and the unanimous consensus was that the training, both on the range and in the classroom, was excellent.

Be prepared for long days, outside most of the time, and after noon of the first day you will spend all of your "free" time loading mags. (ie, bring a -really- good speedloader and plenty of spare mags)

I haven't heard -anyone- who has actually -gone there- and taken the training say it was a waste of their time/money.
