I think they're counting on people not reading the exception. If the ban is not re-enacted, these mags will be so cheap that it really won't make any difference.

They can keep their guns, there's a few Glock models I don't have yet.

Even with the sunset, that is still going to be about sixty bucks worth of magazines. Looks like a good deal to me. Assuming the gun comes with two ten rounders now.

Doesn't seem slimey to me. Factory magazines are still probably going to run you about $25-$30 each, even after the sunset. Though I'm sure you can get some nice USA mags for $5 each.

I think it's a good deal--and a good way to sell a hi-cap handgun before the ban expires. I think it is also a pretty good indication Beretta thinks the ban will expire.

Factory Beretta magazines are heck expensive... too bad I bought my CX4 a while back!

Guess I will have to buy a Beretta Vertec later...

This offer just might tip me into a 92 G-SD I have been thinking about. It effectively knocks $60.00-70.00 off of my eventual total purchase. Added plus is that they will be brand spanking new factory mags rather than used, or Asian contract, or of other, more questionable pedigree.

Thing is, if the ban is re-enacted, you get nothing. Lapse is by no means assured. We still have a President who thinks its a good idea and lots of senile people in the senate who actually think the ASW has reduced crime. Our saving grace may well be in the House. If a renewal gets approved by the House, chances are it will cross Bush's desk. Anybody thought of the possibility that Bush may issue an executive order extending the ban? Who knows maybe Beretta actually expects the law to be re-enacted and they'll be off the hook.

Sure, but your out nothing either. Beretta has been very up front about it--even including listing the individual states where the offer does not apply (and the "small print" is not all that small). If someone doesn't understand the offer, he has nobody to blame but himself. (Besides, I think there's very little doubt the AWB will expire in September.)

I agree that Beretta magazines will still run at least about $30 a pop for brand new ones manufactered post-post-ban, but there's gonna be a whole bunch of LEO mags on the market at first made by Beretta and Mec-Gar that will be just as good sold by discount outfits.

Who knows, maybe with the LEO markings discounters will try to push them at really low prices just to get rid of them.
