Thought I'd give a quick review of a new (to me) ammo supplier I recently ran across - Freedom Munitions.

Ran across this company a while back and decided to give them a try. They produce factory reloaded and new ammo. There is also a line of what they call "Blaster Training Ammo" which is their reloads with cosmetic defects.

They have a brass credit program where if you send in your spent brass (in calibers they reload) they'll essentially pay by the pound and credit your order. Since I don't reload but do keep my brass, I had a 5 gallon bucket almost full and decided to give this a try and send it in. I placed my order for 500 rounds of 9mm (about 1/2 of it 124 grain new production and 1/2 "Blaster" training ammo 115 grain). With the credit for my brass, including shipping, I paid a total of $21! That's what brick of cheap 22lr costs me! It took around a week to get the ammo to me and it all looked to be top notch stuff. The new production used Speer cases and I honestly couldn't find any cosmetic defects with the Blaster reloads. All of the rounds were copper FMJ.

Ran to the range this morning to try out a box of the new stuff and a box of the reloads. Since I'd never heard of this ammo and have not had all good results with other reloads in the past, I decided to try this out with a Hi Point rather than one of my more expensive pistols "just in case". (Testing platform is a great use for the Hi Point for all of you who say they're worthless.) All 100 rounds ran perfectly. The felt recoil and report were consistent throughout all rounds and accuracy was the same for me as any other store bought brands I use. 100 rounds isn't a huge sample but the results are encouraging so far. Anyway, as soon as my bucket gets full again I plan on placing another larger order.

Freedom Munitions is a favorite of mine for ammunition orders. I have shot .44 mag, .40 S&W, .45ACP, 9mm, .223, and 5.56x45 ordered from them.

I have run them over a chrony and gotten around +/- 50 fps in both handgun ammo, and rifle ammo. This is right on par with other factory ammunition that I've tested. After several thousand rounds of pistol ammo I have yet to have a bad round.
Average velocity of those I've run over a chrony:
9mm 115 gr. FMJ: 1140fps (5" beretta 92)
.45ACP 230 gr. FMJ: 825fps (5" 1911)
40S&W 165 gr. RNFP 1040 fps (3.5" Kahr)
44 Mag 240 gr FP 1175 fps (7.75" Sredhawk)
.223 55gr FMJ 2960 fps

Pro's:
Very competitive prices
Brass cased, brass is in good shape.
decent quality bullets
pretty consistent, great if you reload, great if you don't.
INSANE discount deals occasionally...but you have to be on top of things and always checking their FB page to get them.

Cons:
Shipping takes a while if they have got other things going on. In the words of their customer service: "Did you order over 100 cases? No? Ok, its going to take a while then." Took me over a month to get my ammo, and I ordered about $800, not really a drop in the bucket, but not the "100 cases" required for immediate service.

Not match grade... at least for .223 reloads and blaster ammo. I wasn't expecting it to be; for .223, if I get 1" groups out of my handloads out of a particular gun, I can expect about 2" groups out of that same gun with freedommunitions blaster or reloaded ammo.

Limited caliber supply.

To me, "questionable" labeling of their ".223" ammo. On the website there is a "5.56x45 Nato" category, and a ".223 remington" category. I ordered both, as I have a bolt gun in .223 remington, and several semi-auto black rifles. When I order .223 and pay different amounts for .223 than for 5.56x45, I expect to get brass stamped ".223 remington". All the boxes sent marked as ".223 remington" actually was loaded with milsurp lake city brass, (exactly the same as the "5.56x45 Nato" ammo that was sent with the same order) which to my admittedly limited understanding, is actually 5.56x45 brass, and therefore, is loaded to 5.56x45 pressure and tolerances, but maybe somebody could elaborate.

Overall, I'm surprised I don't see them mentioned more on forums, they are pretty consistent with availability, and for the money, offer a good quality product.

Based on the two reports here I ordered 500 rounds of new 380cal fmj with truncated bullet. It's 100gr which is a little heavier than most in 380.

I received the order in just over a week and tested it in three mini pocket 380 pistols and to my complete satisfaction it functioned flawlessly in all three pistols.

The mini pocket 380 pistols can be pretty finicky with ammo but Freedom's ammo ran flawlessly in my P3AT, TCP and Micro Desert Eagle.

I will try it in my P238 and Bersa pistols this week.

By the way the price of $219 + shipping for a thousand round case for the new 380 ammo in fmj is the lowest I have seen anywhere and is even less than what I have been paying for 9mm fmj.
