Looks like a giant ball of fun in a small package. Is it select fire or only full auto? Let us now how it runs.

My M-16 is select fire original configuration is 11.5" barrel chambered in 5.56. I always wanted a 9mm conversion for it so this is the perfect setup. Solves high cost .223 and get lot longer then .22 kits which cycle so fast 25 round mag is over in a few seconds. With 9mm reloading cost I have it down to less then 10 cents a round which is perfect for full auto.

That vid is impressive! Has yours been as reliable?

I've been considering the 9mm belt fed upper but the few reports I've heard of them have been mixed. I've got an early M16 but it's original configuration was a 20" triangle hand-guard, pencil barrel (came out of a California prison).

The second thing I did was get an LMG upper and a few beta mags ... then 11.5" upper ... then a 10.5" 9mm upper and a bunch of 32 round stick mags ... then a CMMG 22 PDW upper mags and 50 round drum ... I'd always wanted a belt-fed so last year I got the Ares Defense upper with the lite 16" barrel and bought a F/A bolt & 12" heavy barrel, a bunch of links, nut-sacks & 200 round boxes ... I like the fact after your belt is "spent" it will take mags and you don't have to switch anything; just stick in a mag.

... In every instance I shot a few thousand rounds and the novelty wore off ... especially with the belt fed ... You not only have to pick up your brass but the links too. The beta-mag may "only" hold 100 rounds but they are easier and faster to reload; by the end of about 100 rounds my suppressor was starting to glow and whils it is F/A rated they might consider 1000 rounds to be abuse!

Still, there is something about a belt fed ...

Nice. I have been considering one for use on a pistol with a 37mm launcher under the barrel. Just a way to 'stimulate conversation' at the range. Considered the ARES unit, but I agree with you on the usefulness of it vis-à-vis the magazines...especially since I do have the C-Mags. Right now the only belt-fed 'anything' I have is one of the Lakeside .22 units (actually, two...one rifle one pistol). Much cheaper to shoot.

Beltfed pistol with a 37mm launcher under the barrel ... yep it would be a conversation starter!

How do you like your Lakeside's ... there was one on GunBroker for a while (it may still be there) and I considered it but with the CMMG upper and I have an old GI conversion unit too (but it only runs when it feels like it) ... plus I have a SiG-522 pistol I SBR'd as well as a bunch of other 22's so I didn't act on it ... If I'd win a big lottery though, it would be a different story!

I actually have a couple of different .22 uppers AND one of the GI conversions. Mine runs okay because I learned a lot about the GI units from using them for a couple of decades in service. Lakeside unit is neat, but they have closed shop so support is "iffy" at best.

I haven't had it out yet just got done linking 1000 rounds took about a 2 weeks of 2 bins link's and ammo next to my computer at night while on the internet. I went with the 9mm since reloading ammo cost will be much cheaper then .223 and I can always go back to my .223 drums and large cap mags. Like you FA belt is fun for awhile lot of work to link up. I might still get a 9mm upper with mags. I also own a 1919 belt fed in 308 and had many years of fun but ammo cost put that toy back in the safe for the last 10 years with the exception of a one weekend where a friend brought his family out to shoot it. His reloads didn't work and it was a waste of time I had to pull out my old wolf ammo I had saved all that time from the "good Old days" when ammo was cheap. I think if this 9 mm works out well I might sell the 1919 and replace it with a Uzi or if I can spend little more and find a Thompson. I think the freedom arms 9 mm would be a great weapon for police departments for suppressing fire against AR's and AK's semi autos. Using their mag weapons run out while this can go 150 rounds without stopping great way to pin down a suspect and get officers in better positions.

I'm a big fan of suppressive fire from my years in the infantry.

I like! What is the rate of fire on that. I haven't done the math on the length of the video/1000 rounds, but it must be in the 750 rpm range or so. My M11/9 with suppressor is running about 1750 rpm right now and this seems to be much slower and more "aimable".

I think it will be around 700RPM but I'm just guessing. With AZ summer temps here in the 110's waiting till they come down some go shooting. I have access to an indoor range but not really much fun shooting paper.
