Has anyone tried this? I've yet to buy accessories so I can carry. I spoke with Crossbreed, and the lady said to get "loop" Velcro. And be sure to get a belt in either 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" so the Velcro could work. That's a bummer. I was looking forward to going with a 1 3/4" belt to go with my Carhartts.

Any tips from you guys would be much appreciated.

I'm a Frequent flyer and yes it is a pain in the butt. I now simply wear a web type belt with a roller type buckle. quickly and easy on, quickly and easy off. I have also learned to wear slip on shoes. Velcro might work, but, me, myself and I, don't think it would be worth the effort or cost. JMO

Are you asking about The Wilderness Tactical Frequent Flyer belt?

The reply's from the first two respondents makes me think maybe not.

The Wilderness Tactical belts have an excellent reputation. I don't have the Frequent Flyer version, but I do have the Original 5-stitch belt in 1.5" width. It is a very good belt. Most will recommend either the 5-stich or CSM if you are carrying a gun.

The recommendation from Crossbreed is probably more for belt clips of the holster to fit. Most holster loops and clips are designed for 1.5" belts as they are the most common size for concealed carry belts. I'm not that familiar with Crossbreed's products, but I'd think you should be able to get clips that would fit a 1.75" belt if that's what you want.

Yes, I'm talking about the Wilderness Frequent Flyer. Below is their statement.

"Velcro Lining

Due to popular demand we now offer hook or loop lining for compatibility with some IWB holsters or duty belts. We charge $15.00 for additional hook (scratchy) OR loop (fuzzy) on our belts, inside or outside. The belts do become custom items with NO returns. Note that we currently only have black Velcro on continuous rolls. Please call us toll-free at 1-800-775-5650 and specify whether you want hook or loop, inside or outside. ONLY full-length coverage available."

I spoke to the lady at Crossbreed specifically about the Velcro option on their holsters. I'm just wondering if she doesn't realize if the Super Tuck Deluxe would work with a 1 3/4" or not.

I'm not quite clear on this. Are you saying she doesn't know or that she's mistaken that it doesn't work with a 1.75" belt.

Unless there has been a recent change, I thought all the Crossbreed products were made for a max belt width of 1.5". It has been my experience that there are very few quality holsters that are cut to accept a 1.75" belt...there just isn't the demand to justify it

I'm new to this, so my perception may be off. I guess I can't wrap my head around the fact that the Velcro from the holster has to be exactly the same width as the Velcro on the belt.

" quickly and easy on, quickly and easy off. "

Wait a minute - I thought the point of having an all-plastic belt - or at least one with no metal - was so you didn't have to take it off at the security check point. That's what I have been doing - are there some airports where they make you take off your belt even if it will not set off the metal detectors?

I think there is quite a bit of confusion here.

I had to read through the posts a few times to see where the "quickly and easy on, quickly and easy off" came from. It is from Ron James who I think was himself confused about what belt the OP, abates was talking about.

I was confused even, with the original velcro comment, thinking the OP was talking about the velcro closure on the belt and not the velcro backing on the belt for the hidden holster hooks.

Now I understand more fully, though it's possible more information may come to light. Looking at Crossbreeds site, they offer their own belts with velcro backing, but only in 1.25" and 1.5" widths, so their own velcro holster attachments are equipped the same. I suppose you could use a 1.75" width velcro backed belt, but you'd end up with extra velcro exposed that would probably rub on your pants. I expect it would work, but not be optimal.

Here is a review I found of a Crossbreed with the velcro hooks that may be helpful.

For what it's worth, since you say...

I suspect the vast majority of users with a Crossbreed type of Inside the Waistband (IWB) holster don't use the velcro attachments, but rather the over hooks.

I use a WT FF belt daily with a White Hat Max Tuck (same type of holster as the Supertuck). The reason that the Crosbreed rep says that you can't go larger than a 1.5" belt is so that the clips work correctly and can slip over the belt and grab on to the bottom. Crossbreed also offers clips with Velcro so that is why she recommended a certain type for your belt - so that they would be compatible.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I think I have a good understanding of the J clips, but still not fully understanding how the V clips are designed to work. Looks like I will give Crossbreed another call.
