I ran across this article in today's Longmont Times-Call:

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Sen. Mark Udall has reintroduced a bill he says could help states better afford to build and maintain safe public shooting ranges.

Udall`s proposed Target Practice and Marksmanship Training Support Act also would encourage federal land-management agencies to cooperate with state and local authorities in maintaining target ranges on federal land, such as those in national forest lands in western Boulder County, Udall`s staff said Wednesday.

For those unfamiliar with Colorado, Boulder is the Colorado equivalent of San Francisco. So for this bill to be sponsored by Udall just floors me.

Newsflash - not all liberals hate guns.

As a gun carrying liberal I agree with the above 100%. It sounds as if Mr. Udall may have come up with an excellent idea. I believe that given the chance to receive some professional quality firearm training, especially safety training many non-shooters would realize that the shooting sports are just that, a sport. They may not chose to become active shooters, but will have a better understand of our sport of choice.

we don't do politics here anymore

if there's something substantial in the bill that is interesting, please feel free to start another thread without trolling for stereotypes
