My wife was nice enough to buy me a couple boxes of Federal 30-06 180gr. Accubond rounds for an upcomming deer & black bear hunt I am planning. I was out shooting the rounds when I got a jam. My bolt wouldn't throw all the way back??? After inspection, I noticed a piece of white between my bolt and the reciever. Turns out it was the white tip of the Accubond I was shooting. After I got home, I finger tested the rounds I have left, and two more tips came out! I was really pleased with these rounds as they are extremely accurate and consistant, but this really has turned me off of tipped bullets for the future.

One the left is what the round is supposed to look like and the two on the right are the "Well that sucks" rounds.

Let Nosler know about that. No doubt they'll replace the ammo. You might try posting this on the Nosler forum for a quick response.

I wouldn't give up on polymer tipped bullets based on a defective lot. They've worked really well for lots of people and there are some great designs out there.

Saw the same thing happen with some 7mm Ultra Mag...got really difficult to close the bolt fully. Definitely not-good, but I don't think it's specific to a certain lot number.
