One or two of you might remember that I recently bought a new Browning Gold Fusion shotgun, which unfortunately arrived with the worst wood imagineable. What was supposed to be oiled Turkish walnut looked simply horrible. The forend looked like it was painted and the stock was streaked with sap. The checkered areas didn't even get re-oiled and looked like raw white wood. It didn't sit well with me for a gun that MSRPs for $1149.
I sent it back November 1st for them to evaluate and got it back Monday the 21st. They replaced this:
With this:
Now the wood looks more like what I had hoped (and paid) for. Browning came thru quickly and did the right thing without charging me one cent. Go Browning!
Now I'm off tomorrow to put a few nicks and dings in it to give it some personality! Well, maybe I'll try to avoid the nicks and dings for a little while.....
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
