The Razor Dobbs dude carries and uses a properly-loaded 10mm DW "Razorback" to take Big Game in the Africa boonies, where the ginormous mean critters hang out. Works fine too

Key over there, or up in Alaska, or out on the mean streets of urban 'Merica, is to load up with proper 10mm ammo. That's real 10mm ammo, not the diluted, overpriced, 40-level junk ammo. Leave that stuff to the Sunday afternoon range posers.

Or better still, stay outta the boonies and just carry a .40 and be done with it. The ammo's cheaper and you'll be packing a 9mm-size pistol, not a Big Boy pistol.

Plus, you won't embarrass the rest of us serious, hardcore 10mm fans. o_O

Win/win right there.
Good God Almighty!

The RDS plate is the Trijicon co-witness sight system. I have this on all three of my 1911 type pistols.

Yep , pretty tough to beat a g20.
The first glock I bought was a g30 back in 2012, I liked it so much I bought a g21. Loved the g21 until I figured out I could shoot the g30 just as well but I kept it just to have a full sized 45 around. Then I started getting interested in 10mm and glock was the obvious choice. Bought a g20 in 2015, at that point the g21 served no purpose at all, if I was going to carry a full sized handgun there was no reason it shouldn't be my g20 . after about a year I sold the g21 and don't miss it at all.

The g20 is reasonably powerful, has good capacity and is tough as nails. Although I have big bad revolvers if I'm doing any wilderness activities in the Midwest I'm likely going to be carrying the 10mm. For social work I like the Underwood 165 grain jhp, for outdoors I like underwoods xtreme penetrator . I don't reload 10mm at this point but I do save my brass for the day I decide to start fiddling with it. If I'm headed out of the house for an overnight I always toss my g20 in my bag but typically carry the g30 on me.

No one could convince me that there's a better semiauto cartridge for outdoors use, bigger cartridges fit in unwieldy guns- like the desert eagle. Faster cartridges lack diameter. It's a goldilocks cartridge that can be mild to fairly wild. I think it's funny that a lot of internet commandos talk about the 10mm auto like it's got some magic juju and claim it's close to 41 mag power, that's nonsense but it doesn't need to be that powerful. I consider it closest to 357 mag, a cartridge I am very fond of. There's no way you're getting a tough , reliable , affordable 15 shot 357 mag. It's not really possible so the next best thing is the 10mm.

Not to stir the pot but I attempted to like the springfield 10mm, I found it unlovable. I considered checking out the new s&w 10mm but I don't see the need, I've got a rock solid reliable glock and don't need 2. All my gear gets used, my handguns get carried and if they don't they get sold. I know what kind of hard use a glock can handle, my g20 doesn't leave me wanting for anything.

I too use a weapon light on my g20, I had some trijicon HD sights on it but I found them way too coarse for accurate shooting- huge front dot. I went back to the stock plastic sights and it suits me fine when coupled with a light. I had a shoulder holster made by weapons education and it's excellent but it doesn't accommodate the light so I don't use the shoulder holster for camp or trail, it's nice leather anyway and I wouldn't want to get it wet and dirty.

At this point there is no better option in my opinion for a hard use outdoors semiauto. If I'm going into brown bear country and won't have a rifle I'll pick a big revolver but if I have my long gun I think the 10mm is still a good choice. You've made a great choice @WrongHanded , same choice countless others prefer too.

I thought the same about my G20. Even tried the 5.25” XDM and hated it. Sold it and stuck with the G20. Now that I have the XDM Elite 3.8 in 10MM I’ve found one that threatening to send my G20 into retirement. The XDM Elite fits my hand great, responds well to stout and mid loads and eats everything I’ve fed it.

Added an OLight Baldr to the gun and an IWB holster to accommodate the light and red dot. Here’s a pic absent the red dot.
