I have an old sporterized Enfield rifle with a front sight hood, and I'm looking for another one like it. The hood does not slide on, but is made of spring steel and grips the front sight base via two claws per side that fit into recesses drilled into the sides of the sight ramp. In essence, the hood looks like the letter C, flipped to the right 90 degrees, and with two little triangular claws terminating each end of the C. The open end of the C is smaller than the width of the sight ramp, so that when installed it's held in place by tension and located on the ramp by the two claws per side.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this, or have an idea of where I can look? I've tried Brownells and Midway and Numrich, and I'm stumped....
