Front sights with wings, do they ever get in the way?

I prefer the 'Globe' type front sights....and your idea for using a 'dot' sight on a DG rifle is a good one, if I do say so myself!

Carry a spare battery or two with you, no problemo!
nice quote on the profile I like it. SI VIS PACEM PARABELLUM!!!! Yea i've been looking at the aimpoint compc3 or the leuopold delta point... leaning towards the delta point. But I want to have back up irons.

I don't think the wings are too much of a problem, although in bad lighting, shooting at a dark target against a dark background, I have found I will sometimes initially pick up the left wing when I am snap shooting. I do not think I have ever fired a round using the left wing as the front sight though.
i could see this happening, fortunately the sight maker has a tritium option, which i'm gonna get.. and i'm thinking i've putting a few daps of glow in the dark paint on the ghost ring so i can see it well at night

I am not sure I would do that. It might help at night but the point of ghost rings is that you are not supposed to see them, so the paint may cause distraction during the day. Also, glow in the dark paint is only good for a little while after dark... then the glow is gone.
