I've never been shy about spending money on shooting. However, I think I hit a whole new level this year after getting the duck-hunting bug. Fortunately, my wife is not only understanding, but wholly supportive. I must have done something REALLY good in a previous life to wind up with her.

While sitting around last week, waiting for some birds to come into the dekes, I started adding up the cost per ounce of protein. Let's just say that Beluga caviar would be like fast food in comparison.
 
sm, it's a family thing. If you look up the inventors of the process whereby depleted fuel rods are turned into tank killer projectiles, you'll find R. J. McCracken, my uncle,among them. He died, alas, before adapting the process to shot.

Think of it. Shells for low light shooting you can find in the dark....

TR, learned a long time ago not to figure out what each bite cost.
