I'm looking for the closest places to California to rent full autos. I'm aware of a couple in Vegas and a couple down in Arizona but don't know specifics. I'm in the bay area so everything is equa distant. Is there any place near Reno or maybe in Oregon? Any help would be much apreciated.

Nevada submachine gun rentals would include:

Las Vegas:
Discount Firearms on Boulder Hiway
www.discountfirearms.net
The Gun Store on Tropicana
www.thegunstorelasvegas.com
American Shooters on Arville @ Spring Mountain
www.americanshooters.com

Reno:
Impact Indoor Shooting Range on Coney Island Dr.
www.impactindoor.com (couldn't seem to find this site... so call first to see if they're still alive 775-359-5599)

Several other places to go fondle and buy, of course and there may be other places to rent... these are just the only ones I'm aware of. Bring plenty of cashola as feeding those things can get expensive and you gotta buy their ammo.

Hafta let others chime in about AZ OR

To own a full-auto gun you must have a license from feds

It is not a license, but rather a title showing approved ownership to the particular NFA item.

and from state of residence.

Not in my state.

The place in Reno was closed about a year ago due to lead concerns. They were supposed to clean things up and re-open but I think they're still closed.

No I don't want a class 3 ffl for myself because I'd never get it even if I could the thousands of dollars required to get one. I just want to know if there are ranges around where I could rent a full auto to shoot onsite

Now that I think about it, isn't there something from the local CLEO that must be sent to the feds for transfer of a Class III item?

The back of the Form 4 (transfer to an individual, tax paid) has a "Chief Law Enforcement Officer" certification that states that he/she is to the best of their knowledge aware of any prohibitions on the indivdual from owning a firearm and that the fireare to the best of their knowledge will be used in a lawful manner.

Don't even bother applying for a Class III in Kali. You'll just waste money to heard a big fat NO WAY.

I asked the CA DOJ and they pretty much laughed at me. :cuss: :fire: :cuss:

killermarmot: Check out Reed's Indoor Range in Santa Clara. Scroll down the page a bit; they have a minigun available for rental. :D

I think the only place in Cali with full auto for rental was Stembridge and they closed a while ago.

The Vegas gun shops are your closest options.

Full autos are fun but not worth the price those places charge. I'd rather shoot my AR-15 rapid fire.

You could always attend a Reno AR-15 event.

I know it's a long way from SF but for the SoCal members, "Dave's Indoor Gun & Archery" in San Bernardino rent's full-auto. The last time I was there, about 6 months ago, they had a 9MM M-16 and a Calico. On the wall are copies of his CADOJ machinegun and assault weapon permits so he is legit.

So, if I drop a $1,000 to rent the GE Minigun, I only get $25 off the purchase price if I decide to buy a similar one? That doesn't sound fair. And to think, I was going to run out and buy one just next week!

Yeah, right!
