Full size 22 rifle

They are a bit pricy for a .22LR rifle, but the Sig 522 is about 7/8 as long as the full size Sig 556 battle rifle differing in barrel length ahead of the receiver. Same stocks, handguards, pistol grips. I'm 6'7" and it handles extremely well for me. Great fun to shoot and surprisingly accurate as well.

I'd say a Ruger 10/22 with one of the nicer stocks, like an International or Deluxe. The Wal Mart specials are very similar if you can find one.
I've always had a love affair with the International style stocks and the 20" barrels on the WalMart specials also balance very nicely...too bad they don't combine the two :fire::fire:

Some not specifically mentioned; Remington 541-S amd 541-T used. Perhaps a 547 if you are willing to spend the money. Nice full sized rifle.

Savage Mark II, Weatherby Mark XXII semi- and bolt.

The Thompson Center R-55 if you can find one. Many have gone back to TC due to chipping. Not sending mine back. They won't fix them anymore.

Cajun mentioned the Ruger 10/22... that's the "deluxe" model. They are a litte bigger than the standard. But probably still a little small. Good for me however. Ruger 77/22 is full sized, but I have never taken a liking to them since the stock looks just like the 10/22. It deserves better.

Some of old military trainers are quite hefty. Yeah, CZ's are good.....

Marlin 39A, especially an older one. Seem to be smoother than the new ones.

Henry Golden Boy is a full sized rifle.

As so many have shown here, there is a proliferation of good quality adult size .22 rifles on the market.
I have a CZ 452 Trainer and a couple Remington 581 bolt action rifles that fit me fine and I am 6'2"

Admitedlly, the current semi auto offerings seem a bit smaller in scale compared to the bolt guns unless you get into high end target grade rifles from Magnum Research or Volquartsen with their spiffy full size stocks,,,

I have a Remington 550 that I received when I was 12 after 50 years the bolt broke but I figure I have put 70,000+ rounds through it in those years.

Sleazy, what is the LOP on that Wifama?
I'm not at home right now, and won't be for several more days, so I'll measure it when I return next week. I do rememeber, however, that the LOP is adjustable to some degree as the trigger mechanism is on some sort of slide.

I am 6'3 and the 22 rifles I have tried at the gun shop are ridiculously small on me and would be uncomfortable to shoot. Do they make any 22 rifles that are full sized.

You might consider modifying the stock on a rifle to suit your arm length.

Way back when I bought my first rifle (Marlin 783 bolt action, .22 Magnum), I was not able to comfortably sight using the iron sights because of the shape of the stock. Marlin rifles have a characteristic "hump" (for want of a better term) that made it uncomfortable for me to position my cheek to sight along the iron sights.

My solution was to make a walnut "butt extension", which was about 4 inches long. It was made to bolt on between the rifle stock and the butt plate. This enabled me to get my cheek behind that "hump" on top of the rifle stock.

It gave me a longer reach, but I was not uncomfortable with that at all, surprisingly. (I'm 5'9") I imagine this might work quite well for someone of your height and arm length.

Mat35750;

T'were I you, I'd start looking for a Remington from the 60's, I think it was called the Speedmaster. The model number is 522. There's a pump version also but I don't know what it's called. Mind you, this is just my opinion, but the Speedmaster is about two to two-and-a-half times the gun the current 597 is. And the market reflects my opinion also; a used 552 is almost certainly going to cost you more than a new 597.

You want Ford's latest econo-box or you want a classic T-bird? Both will move you from place to place. One will make you feel a whole lot better while doing it. Same thing with the guns.
