Thank goodness this is not another Sigma thread! I chose the P226, get it with night sights, it is an unbelievable gun. Not to mention H&K hates you. I have currently 5 SIGs, 0 H&K, except for a USP expert (no longer made in 9mm) and the P30L I have little interest in H&K , did I mention they hate us. I have a CZ 75D, Glock G34, Colt Series 70 9mm, and an STI 1911 9mm pistols. If I had to choose one to bet my life on in my home it would be the SIG P226, not one problem ever in over 10,000 rounds. I use the G34 in ISPC production class and it does shoot fast and straight, and mags are good and cheap, it shoots marginally tighter groups than the P226, only reason I have it is for range and match use, The CZ is a compact and my daily carry pistol, the Colt is a collectors item but I still shoot it. The STI is my new ISPC pistol and shoots better than all the others, cost double that of the others too. I would buy the SIG P226 again it sits on the night stand and makes most range trips. Again get it with the tritium night sights, and thanks for posting a thread about something other than a Sigma.
