Fun firearm nicknames

Do you name your guns? My g34 was nicknamed Paradise city because it was built to play in USPSA co division and I wanted to shoot it at the nationals in Frostproof Florida. Unfortunately this year is out for be because of upcoming back surgery. Then a couple of months ago i had an opportunity to acquire a nice 2011 open gun. Since my brother is already shooting 9 major I jumped from circle track into a drag car. Several names for it were being considered. "Kim kardshian", "Diego", "baba yaga". None of these really fit, except maybe kim because its definately a princess gun. Loud, hard to let go. High maintenance. After careful consideration i settled on something different. My neurosurgeon was discussing the recovery process and asked me what i like to do. I showed him a video and he was very supportive. Walking is the #1 exercise after back surgery. My Limcat is now "physical therapy". Surgery is this week. My motivation to get out of bed is physical therapy at the sectionals in Bend, Oregon! With a little work and a stack of Ben Stoeger books I might not be last..

Yeah, for some reason I used to name a lot of things. My little Llama locked-breech .380 I called "My W'lw Fwend" loooong before the Scarface movie, an M1 carbine "George" for Patton, I used to call my M9 "Bruno," but withdrew that and applied it to my 1911. 'Cause I hated the M9.

I had a green Datsun 240Z I called "Nymphie," and my present runaround, a '97 Legacy, is "Suzy Baru." Kind of faggy, I guess, but that's the name that came to me.

A long time ago I had a hunting knife I named something medieval, but I forget what. It wasn't Excalibur, though.

Not sure why not, but I don't have names for my two EDCs nowadays.

This whole naming thing is interesting, though. I know John Steinbeck named his camper "Rocinante" after Don Quixote's horse. See his book, "Travels With Charley," who was his dog.

Hm.

Just plain old "Charley."

Go figure.

I only have one named gun. It’s my S&W 327 Night Guard. I call it “Brutus”. Not sure why I picked that name except the gun is a bit of a brute when shooting 158 grain magnum loads.

Also, this is the one handgun my wife actually likes and she shoots it well. You wouldn’t think a little woman would like shooting an N frame but out of all my guns it’s her favorite...with .38 Special SD rounds, of course. Another reason I like having named that gun is if I say to my wife “Go get Brutus” she knows exactly what I mean, but others wouldn’t.

My boss just called to get my covid test documentation for my pre surgery home isolation and asked if I was going to physical therapy after surgery. Yes i am. 1hr a day. Right out behind my house. Copay is already paid to Dr Dillon.

I named my 1937 Tula sporter FrankenTula™, becuase it started out as a barreled action and triggerguard/mag group I bought at a gunshow for $25. Added a $10 M44 stock from eBay, and "It's Alive!" It's actually my favorite of my Mosins, and the most accurate.

NVcharlie, good luck on your surgery. I had spine surgery 3 months ago. Got to ride my motorcycle got the first time since the surgery yesterday.
Do yourself a huge favor. Heed the doctor’s advice and definitely do the physical therapy. It’s not fun and definitely inconvenient but it makes a big difference in your healing.

My van is christened Rocinante.....also a stolen Martian Navy corvette in series "The Expanse," and an exploratory starship in Rush's song "Cygnus X-1."

Never named a gun.....but if I owned a GE Minigun, it would be "Old Painless"-

All Glocks are known as "Nibbler" one specific one has the distinction of having a four letter "ing" as a title.........we had a run in again yesterday.


My buddies wife wanted a video of all of us dumping rounds, and I didn't bring any of my handguns. 10rnds and I put that thing down soon as it went empty.......

I only have one that has a nickname. A S&W model 19-3 that I bought a number of years ago. It had been refinished in what looks more black than blue with the hammer and trigger chromed and it came with a black holster. I refer to it as my Batman special.

None of my guns are named. I did buy a very good friend a Marlin 45-70 as a going away present years ago. He was moving to a Texas. I dubbed it Triple H for Hanson’s Hog Hammer.

I didn't name this gun, my section chief did. We were in Bravo Battery so the gun name had to start with "B". The Chief's name was William Wallace ( he was a skinny little black nurse about as far away as any image you would ever have of Mel Gibson when he wasn't in The Guard) so he named the the gun Braveheart.

I fired the very last 8 inch round that ever went down range in the US Army on that gun. Then they sold it to Morocco.
