Fun with UPS

My brother used to work for UPS...needless to say, I don't ship anything through UPS.

I haven't had those kinda of issues with UPS, instead I get refusal to deliver issues with the FedEX driver. Apparently that guy is so scared of this neighborhood that he simply refuses to ship here.

It's not that bad....just lock up the truck when doing the rounds.

Yea, I'll reiterate once again. I'm not one to pimp Federal government agencies. But I've had a LOT better luck with USPS than UPS.

And I prefer the Fedex shipping company above either. UPS is a joke in my opinion and they are only getting worse.

I hate to say that because all the UPS drivers I've seen are really good. It's the counter people and the ones in between that are the problem.

Never had a problem with UPS, but I did have to file an insurance claim with USPS, and I can tell you they they did pay to reframe my mothers pictures that were damaged. And it only took two weeks to process and they were NICE, funny, but then again it wasn't the local counter lady (she's got a rep)

Shipping I used to ship hasmat as part of my job, when I worked, and it can be a pain, mostly because nobody except "the guy" knows anything, and every once in while you run into somebody who thinks they know.

That being said, also worked with guy who used to work for shipping companies, and it's relative, however when I missed my delivery UPS was happy to send it back to the airport hub office, and two security screenings later and a stink eye (the box was a little banged up and it was a supervisor bringing it out to me, so he wanted to make sure nothing was damaged, I was like, um but you know, well ok) I walked out with my gun.

I have used them all and most of the problems I have encountered were the direct result of an ignorant counter person. It appears the first requisite to work for UPS is to have less than normal common sense and the ability to not comprehend simple written policy. What has always amazed me is how the counter people can state “that is against UPS policy” but can not provide the written policy.

I just received a shipment from ammoman thru UPS that was left on my door step with big letters across package stating "Signature Required". I should not complain only took 4 days from NJ to Fl.

Probably because they wanted to get the evil  ammunition out of New Jersey as quickly as possible! It might just jump out of the box on it's own and kill somebody, you know---but only in New Jersey (and California) :barf:

From what I understand UPS is pretty anti-gun, so I'm not surprised they hassle gun owners/sellers. UPS routinely donates to anti-gun agendas. If I ship a gun back to the manf. for repair through the retail outlet I bought it from, they more often then not use fedex, nuff said.

I work for a large delivery company, and it always surprises to hear how people think we treat your box. I have to load a semi truck at the rate of one package every three seconds, so that is why your boxes get dinged up. A good rule of thumb for packing your stuff: if you aren't comfortable dropping it 6ft, then you need to pack it better.

I wish it weren't this way, but these companies only care about the bottom line, and it costs too much money to employee enough people to get the job done carefully.

I used to ship DHL, now I use USPS for everything. USPS is usually significantly cheaper than the other guys as well.

PS - if you are going to use UPS, after tapping up your box put some thick red packing tape on it too, that indicates a High Value item ($5,000+) and they are usually a little more careful with those.

Why are you surprised?

It should be no surprise at all to hear how people think you treat our boxes.
