Counterstrike, while fun, is probably the worst popular source for gun information out there -- and everybody believes it. All of it.
Gun discussions in school were pretty fun. Kids who'd probably never even shot a gun would talk about how weak the .223 is, and would swear up and down that .30-'06 is the only round that will kill anything/anybody. I tried to explain to that kid (this was all in Junior High, BTW) about how .270 Win handloaders can use .30-'06 brass, but .30-'06 handloaders can't use .270 brass.
Insert blank look here.
In High School, my heavily pro-gun friend and I were in the same Aviation class, where we'd watch "channel one."
They'd show clips of various drivel, and anything having to do with guns, we would immediately tear apart. You know, things like, "It's okay, that uncocked single-action isn't going to hurt anybody yet," and, "That was more than six shots."
It's so fun being able to tear the feeble world down around your classmates.
