ANyone tried the new Federal Fusion cartridges? I have a 270 and was wondering if they would be a good deer round, beacuase my gun don't like to group good with winchester and I won't use remington for deer anymore.

Someone told me the other day that they had asked this question on another forum, and reports so far were disappointing. The person said that the reports were they weren't exiting. But with a 270 it doesn't seem like it should be a huge problem.

Which winchester's did you use? Mine groups so-so with powerpoints, but loves the old silvertips (not the new ballistic ones, the original ones).

There's always federals if you don't like remington's, and I've had good luck with hornady ammo.

I have been using the power points mainly because of the cheap price, as for remington core locts I lost a nice eight pointer at the start of rifle season last year. The primer was seated to far, trust me if I had looked at it before I loaded it I could of easily seen it but I didnt check ammo then. On a good note I did get the eight point 3 days from the end of season with a winchester power point.

i dont get the new remington core-lokt the bullets used to be more pointed, and last week i went to get another box to go shooting, i grab a box off the shelf open it and look and the bullets are all round looking. same weight same box. are they supposed to be bettor or something??? i think i will have to find a new brand and re-sight.

The exact same thing happened to my Dad a few years back, but he lost Wisconsin trophy buck. Said minimum of 12 pts and the rack when way way past his ears. By the time he had the 2nd round chambered he'd lost the shot.
