I tried a search but couldn't find anything.
I checked out the (claimed) ballistics on the new Fusion ammo. With 30-06 the Fusion really did not perform any different than a regual Federal Nosler. The HE round had much more energy & velocity.
HOWEVER, has anyone looked at the ballistics they are claiming with the 30-30 round? Has anyone duplicated this to any degree?
Here is what they claim:
Fusion: 170 grain - Velocity of 1720 and energy at 1115 at 200 yards.
Federal Nosler Partition: 170 grain - Velocity is 1619 and energy is 990 at 200 yards.

What's the deal? Should I purchase a box of Fusion? Unless someone tells me that they are fudging their numbers....I probably will. Also, what about penetration differences between Nosler Partition & Fusion. I will be hunting elk so I want good penetration with this 30-30.
Has anyone checked these numbers?

I've sent a few rounds of Fusion downrange with my Mossy ATR-100 in .30-06, but I haven't even seen any of the .30/30 fodder. It did seem a bit hotter than PMP and Rem in 150-gr. [I don't have a chrony, just going by "feel on the shoulder & ears".]

Will give it a try if I find some. I have both Rem & Win 150's & 170's in .30/30 to compare. Federal is usually pretty close to their published specs, in MY experiences.
