I am curious what your thoughts are. I have this uncomfortable feeling that the Democrats may well win in November; and if that’s the case and the Republican nominee really irritates the electorate, we could end up with a Democratic majority in one or (doubtful) both houses of congress. I have no doubt once a crisis occurs, they will use it to try to get more gun control laws written. If our political landscape really moves that far to the left, what do you think could actually get passed into law?

I am guessing at a 10 round magazine limit and they may try to institute some sort of ban on semi-auto rifles with a military background. I don’t know how that would work realistically since with the sunset of the previous AWB, AR’s have become so overwhelmingly popular.

Your thought?

Look, we really try to avoid wild speculation here. There have been about 700 threads, mostly following Sandy Hook, or any other shooting that makes the news, and in every election cycle, with folks spewing out all their fears of all the horrible legislation THEY are going to inflict on us.

What (the heck) is the point? What have we ever accomplished by this hand wringing?

Hey doctor, if I catch a disease soon, what kind do you think it's going to be?

If I crash my car, do you think I'll have worse head trauma or just a bunch of broken limbs?

Tell me, please, so I can worry about it!

We've seen the litany of anti gun hopes and dreams pushed forward (and rejected) year after year. How much more guessing do we need to do about what they'll try next time?

The most destructive gun laws have been implemented at the state level where there are majority pockets of like minded people who subscribe to that kind of nonsense.

It's been a non-starter on the national level for several years. Even exploiting Sandy Hook got the no where.

Pay close attention to what your state assembly is doing. That is where the threats lie.
