At today's High Caliber gun show at the GRB Convention Center I saw half a dozen Kel-Tec KSG shotguns for $800 (and a lot more at higher prices). This is the first time I've seen them offered at MSRP.

Friend of mine won one at a DU banquet. He gave it to his son who's a cop in Waco and all in to tacticool crap. The thing is useless for any practical wing shooting and that's all my friend needs a shotgun for. He likes his OU and his pumps. I can honestly say I wouldn't be in the market, either. If I needed a shotgun/rifle aka slug gun, a barrel for one of my Mossbergs would be cheaper. BUT, I don't need such a thing.
Larry has literally hundreds of firearms. His shotguns range from his O/U to his several dozen pumps, Remingtons, Mossbergs, Brownings and Ithacas mostly. He IS into ARs, something I never saw a use for, personally.
They sell these Kel Tecs to the younger folks, I guess, the kind of folks that go into panic attacks when their smart phone battery dies, got apps for everything, can't count cash in their head. Gotta have an app for that. Hell, even my phone is dumb. I just think it's neat I can finally have a portable phone! Phones are for talking on, after all. I'm just not that technical and when the old stuff works for me, hell, why fix it? I don't see the point in a shotgun that doesn't fit and requires a 5" scope base to get the optic high enough to use. Me, I'd rather have a good fitting traditional shotgun regardless of action. The FIT is everything. What good is a shotgun that won't come to the eye without optics? Blaaaaah.....

I'm 31 (but people would probably say I have the maturity of a 21-year-old,) and I built an AR with no rails and fixed iron sights, I just bought a revolver, and my dream shotgun is an 870 Police or a High Standard Flite King Riot. I do have a smartphone but I was the one always telling my last girlfriend to put the phone away during dinner.
