I just got a glock 30 sf. I was wondering how people carry it. I tryed the waist band but too cumbersome. Any ideas on holsters? Im not picky on style or carry position

I've tried the itw desantis cozy partner and it sucked. Too much additional thickness. Maybe a kydex itw would be better. I've been considering the Jentra clip but the exposed trigger gives me the willies. On the waistband is by far the most comfortable so far for my G30. I've also tried the Blackhawk serpa finger release holster and it sticks out like a cannon even with a big shirt on. I have been eyeballing a galco lower back holster, forgot what its actually called but it holds the gun sort of upside down. Galco actually has a thin kydex holster that goes in the waist band and has a clip that clips to your pants. I've actually been searching myself too. If you find anything please let me know. Thanks

Check out alabamaholster.com. I bought their holster called the offside for my G29 which is the exact same size gun only in 10mm and I love it. Thin anyway because it's made out of thin kydex and then they put the clip on the side of the gun instead of on top of it and that also helps to pull the butt of it closer to the body. Great quality and would recommend to anybody.

You may want to try a Raven Concealment Phantom. It will give you the option of trying Inside the Waist Band (IWB) or Outside the Waist Band (OWB) (the more common terms than ITW and OTW in the event you are doing a search) with just one holster and different attachments. They are extremely popular, so expect a long wait. They are very good holsters that that are thin and light, and carry the pistol high and close to the body.

I also have a Garrett Industries "Silent Thunder". It is a leather lined kydex holster. They have several models that may work for you.

Don't forget to get a good gun belt. At the very least get a Wilderness Tactical Instructor belt.

I don't carry my G30 much but when I do its in a DeSantis Pro Stealth in appendix ItW.
This setup actually isn't too bad with jeans and a good belt.

Wait. When you tried the waist band, was it in a holster? A good holster goes a long way. Crossbreed and Comp-tac make good IWB holsters. You will also need a carry belt with any IWB or OWB holster. 1 inch dress belts are not designed to carry loads.

IWB should work fine. I carried my 21SF IWB (at about the 3'o'clock position) yesterday with a cheap $10 Ace holster, it didn't give me any problems

The chunkiness of the G30 is what lead me to buy the G36 over it. Just enough beef to make packing the gun an issue.

I made a holster for my 36 that would probably fit the 30. It rides high and tight IWB. Of course, I only wear it with shorts as they tend to be looser fitting than jeans, and I generally wear an over-shirt to hide it.

I've heard people really like the super-tuck holsters. I just prefer to make my own.

My G30 (not SF) rides fine in a Crossbreed Supertuck IWB holster made for a G27. It's really the grip that poses a problem with concealment, even with the G27.

Another Vote on Crossbreed holster. I have a G30 SF and I carry it everyday strongside at about the 5 oclock position. Once the crossbreed is worn in it will just fall into place when you wear it. And if you get a crossbreed be patient with it, its a little stiff at first but you will love it when it breaks in.

I carry a G30 as edc - I use an owb holster found in my sig.

With the right holster and belt set up you can easily carry and conceal a g30. I have found that 2-3o'clock works best for me (5'9" - 180lbs).

Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

I carry my G30 IWB in a kydex clip on holster made by a glocktalk member called "coachg"...he sells them there. It is thin and light, and protects the trigger. I carry in the crossdraw position. Coachg sells them for $35. I liked it so much, I ordered a couple more for other pistols.

I just picked up the blackhawk pancake holster that has 12 oclock and fbi pattern. Going to try that for a week and see. Mite pic up the kydex type if this one doesant work. Thank you guys for all your help

My G29SF (same size) rides on my right hip in an OWB leather holster or a Serpa, usually open carry unless it's jacket weather.
