For all of your THRers who plan on going to the Gainesville FL gun show on NE Waldo Rd

SAVE YOUR MONEY

DO NOT GO

worst 7 bucks ive ever spent

they easily had twice as much junk and knock off nazi stuff and fake knives than there was guns...and what guns they did have were either ridiculously over priced for the used ones, and the new ones were regularly at least 100 bucks over retail

DO NOT GO

Isn't the whole point of guns shows to stock up on beef jerky and crappy holsters?

I find the same to be true in Birmingham, AL.

Think all the guns are priced for suckers that don't know squat about guns nor prices. All over priced and little value.

one laughable attempted sale was from this young dude at a table that had a 4in? Nickel Colt Trooper/Lawman for like 900 bucks...telling the old guy that "its pretty much a python"...the old guy laughs and walks away lol

Eh, I thought it was better than the last time I went out to the Newberry one. I didn't see anything enticing enough for me to buy though.

Me and a friend decided there were 3 good deals at the gun show here in Ft Worth. He was lucky enough to get one of them, it was a Buckmark with 2 magazines for $260. The only thing wrong with it was a bent guide rod that cost less than $3 to fix. We looked and couldnt find the other 2 deals but did get our fill of jerky and crappy coffee.

It wouldn't be hard to be better than the Newberry gun show. I went to the Newberry show once and felt like I just flushed the $6 entrance fee down the toilet. Its the only show I went to and wanted my money back when I walked out.

i think there needs to be a limit on tables peddling $5 chinese repro nazi daggers for $30 at all gun shows

Heck,I thought ALL guns shows were like that....the ones I go to sure are.I is sometimes cheap entertainment at least. And you get to fondle guns some.

I am SO GRATEFUL that my LGS has a huge selection at good prices. It is one of the many blessings in my life. I don't have to waste my time at Beefy Jerky Conventions and hope to stumble across some overpriced firearms. I think we should put up a post when a gunshow IS worthwhile.

The El Paso show is alright...some gouging (Pardner Pump for 249, a Hi Point 40 carbine for 439), but some good deals too, especially on ammo.

around here there trying to stop u from bringing guns in for soler trade, only table buyers guns only, been slowly starting ts over the past year,

point in ??? they stopped an old guy at the door on Sunday and told him he couldn't bring in any guns to sell,

they might as well close the doors now, i carry mine to try to sell it but is i don't make a deal i will trade it off before the day is out.

When are they gonna close the beef jerky loophole?

Yep. Better hurry while you can still get the 30-piece bag.

Also, the last few gun shows I've been to in northern FL have been very disappointing. I've picked up some brackets and light mounts, a lot of ammo, but while there were good selections of firearms, I couldn't find any deals at all.

Instead, I've done much better at Shooters and Gander Mountain. Maybe it's like this everywhere now, I don't know. I did buy at a show once and got a great deal, but that was a long time ago.

I can say the same for the recent Orlando gun show and most of the others in central Florida! The Orlando show was nothing but dealers with over-priced, new guns. All of them priced HIGHER than retail! The Eustis show was even worse! Small and mostly junk and absolutely ridiculous prices, like a beat up Universal carbine for $550! The dealer even went into a long story about how it was a WW II gun! The Deland show at least has some interesting stuff even though 99+% of it was insanely priced. Just came back from a small show in Cocoa yesterday and it wasn't too bad. The prices ranged from high to laughable. The ONLY thing that I've found worth buying in the last few months was a sporterized 98k Mauser for $200.

I sent a new shooting buddy to a gun show in north Atlanta. His reply when he got back: I was expecting more guns and a lot less "yard sale".

:D

seems to be the norm here lately. I ran into a curmudgeon couple of weeks ago at our and it cost him a sale, as I just purchased the same gun a few days ago. I will say my 11 year old son loves going to them, yes for the jerky and the loves seeing the actual weapsons he uses in Call of Duty, etc. I chalk up it as entertainment for a cold winter day.

Last gun show I went to which was in Jackson Tn.on the 8th of Jan. had lots of vendors but only one had any Nazi memorabilia and he didn't have much of it. All he had was a Krigsmarine flag and a couple of Weirmact helmets. And nobody was selling jerky.

I goto the Washington Arms Collectors gun shows her in washington state. NIB glock 23 439$, NIB bersa thunder 380 nickel 219$, EAA witness 9MM 289$. That was all last year. But they do have the jerky, jewelry, boots, trinket tables as well.
