Galil?

I did a search and found a thread but didn't understand it, sorry, I'm not a rifle person, I have a rem 597 22 I got as a kid, that's it.

Would a real Israeli Galil be a good low maintenance gun? Would 2 Glocks (Since I have 3 other handguns) be a good trade for one?

Just wanted some opinions before I trade two ultra reliable guns for one.

First of all, a Golani isn't a Galil.

Search for "Century" (or "drunk monkeys") to see what kind of fun you can have with a Century-produced weapon.

IMHO, I'd stay far away from them (keep your glocks).

Couple of things here. First I think the seller in the link is lying about it not being a Century gun.

He is asking way to much for the gun. It is built on a ORF receiver which is the one that so many people had trouble with. The metal was too soft in some key areas on the ORF receivers. The newer Golani's are built with Caspian receivers and have a serial number prefix starting with GLN.

The seller in the link wants $895 for his gun. How about this. Henderson Defense has these guns for sale for $595. These are guns built with the better receiver and the shop goes over them first to verify that they don't have any issues, before shipping them out. I have one from them and it has run 100% from the day I got it.
