Just had a fun shoot at our loacal gun club in Warsaw Indiana. Kosko Conservation. It was all two man team events, 4 total.
I walked in the club and an old shooter grabbed me and asked if I had a partner, he had been waiting around for about 20 minutes for someone he knew to show up. Well we teamed up for the events.
First event two man team 1 pair of trap doubles and 1 pair of skeet doubles, twenty birds total. Yardage about 20 and standing between first and second trap pads and fourth and fifth trap pads. I took the trap targets because he was strictly a skeet shooter. I dropped three of my ten trap doubles and he dropped one bird of his skeet doubles for a total of sixteen. All four birds were in the air at the same time so its a bit hectic. The high score for this event was a 17.
Next event was a 21 bird event with skeet and trap targets combined thrown 1-3 at a time not knowing which targets are flying so we had 4 shots to take up to 3 birds with. We had to stand at about the 30 yard trap handicap behind skeet stations 3 and 5. I missed 1 trap target and he missed 1 skeet target for a total of 19 out of 21. We ended up winning this event as the next highest score was a 16.
Third event was a 20 bird skeet protection at about the 30 yard handicap on trap. the statons were 2-6 two pair at each station. We got 19 out of 20 for another high score and win. Next best was two 18s.
Last event was a five stand flurry. 20 total targets with 5 being shot at a time. Six available presentations of targets. 5 birds in the air in about 5 seconds give you enough time to reload once or twice but you can only have two shells in the gun at a time. We ended up with a 12 out of 20 with the high score being 13. I believe we also won the HOA but they hadn't tallied up everything yet.
A nice day of shooting with friends and aquaintences with a nice picnic type lunch provided for the shooters and their families, the weather was about 80degrees with a light wind, almost perfect. Close to 25 teams participated in the event with a fun time had by all.
Just thought I would share my day with you all.
