Hint: When ordering from the CMP it is rumored to help in the selection of a nicer rifle by throwing in about $20 worth of chocolate for the CMP employees!

I checked out the GCA application and it has a check option for them to forward your membership info to the CMP. If this is the case, do I still need to provide proof of affiliated club membership when I send the rest of my info to the CMP?

As long as you have some sort of proof of membership payment to the GCA, you should only need that document and head out to Camp Perry, OH (Port Clinton) and wander thru the racks to pick out the rifles (or rifles) you want. You might even be able to join the GCA right there in the store.

The staff at the North Store will help you with all of the rest of the paperwork and they even have a Notary at the store to take care of that part. From what I have heard, if you ask the guys to find you a really nice rifle, they usually go into the warehouse and come back out with some really beautiful specimens. They have guages there to check the condition of the muzzle and throat so you can be sure of getting a good shooter.

Also, get some Lake City or the Greek (in clips and bandoleers) ammo while you are there and save the shippings costs!!
