I recently picked up this knife. It's a gaucho-inspired camp knife. It's a good sized knife at 11" overall length, with 6" of flat-ground cutting goodness. The koa handle has an oval cross section so that I'll always know where the vorpal edge is. I can't wait to put it to work this summer.

That's a really nice-looking piece. Where did you get it and how much?

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'll pass them on to the maker.

Vonderek, I commissioned this knife from a custom maker. Drop me a line and I'll give you his info.

The knife has an O1 tool steel blade. The handle is made from stabilized koa.

Nice gaucho. Here's mine, which I received as a souvenir from friends traveling in Argentina.

The blade narrows at the back at the last 1/3 toward the tip, so this knife can be used for both hard chopping and finer carving. Perfect for barbecue on the range.
