We all know legislation of some sort is coming and it won't be the type that we want. Saw this news story ( http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/20...gv-sees-record-support-following-ct-shooting/ ) on another site that the Brady Campaign is seeing record contributions. I know many of us are going out and buying guns, but are we donating to the NRA or the pro-RKBA association of your choice? I gave more this morning, I'm sure they're going to need it. I'm sending letters to representatives tonight as well. Make sure our voices are heard.

As did I. I gave $100 and I almost never give more than my annual dues to the NRA. I guess this time, I really do think changes are coming.

It won't be long til the moderators lock this thread, just like all the others dealing with political fallout from the shooting. I am confused by these measures.

I keep checking the NRA website for a response, and have seen nothing yet. Don't they work on weekends during a crisis?

I was doing the same thing Pilot.

I think it's pretty on topic to have a thread that right now is a good time to contribute more to RTKBA organizations like the NRA. These are our freedoms that are under scrutiny right now.

He might be referring to the blind faith in the NRA. I for one agree, though not with his choice of delivery. The NRA is a lot like the Republican party in my eyes. Rhetoric sounds right, but implementation severely lacking. For instance the NRA supported the Patriot Act and the NDAA (yikes). I don't care how hard they fight for guns, it will not be at the expense of my other freedoms.

The NRA consistently supports closet "antis," and I would imagine this is a head scratcher for most folks. Sort of like the Republican party's stance on prohibition, all while referring themselves as "conservatives." Newsflash people, nothing conservative about Drug Wars and unnecessary foreign wars.
