Gentlemen;
Do NOT ever allow your fellow shooters to force you to try their rifle that has a Geissele trigger. A fellow target shooter (NRA Master hi power) twisted my arm to shoot his rifle, a .223 AR set up for target use. It was fitted with a Geissele hi speed match trigger.
I own two ARs and was building another. One had a JP trigger, one a Rock River 2 stage. Both, I thought were quite good.
I was wrong.
My friends rifle's trigger was almost a mind reader. It fired when you thought it should. Not light (2 1/2 lbs) but it seemed to read my mind.
So OK, I was a convert & bought for my new AR build a 2 stage Guissele hi speed match trigger. It is as good as my friends rifles trigger. 2 1/2 lbs. The first stage measures at 2 lbs. You can easily feel the pull through of the 1st stage & the second stage reads your mind (well almost) These triggers have two negative aspects, one is that they are EXPENSIVE @ $275.00 and second that they are almost always on back order.
So y'all are forewarned, don't let your shooting buddys to twist your arms and shoot their rifles with Geissele triggers. You'll just lie to your wife how that $275.00 magically left your bank account.

Great, now I'm off to check brownells to see if they are in stock! I've been itching to upgrade my AR15 trigger for some time.

I completely agree. I just got one for my service rifle. Mine is even less light at the required 4.5 lbs, but the second stage is very crisp and breaks exactly as it should with zero creep and only ounces of pressure. Almost all of the pull weight is in the first stage but still has a definitive clear break on the second stage.

The price is hard to swallow, but it is a very good trigger.

FYI, I got mine from White Oak. they were in stock there.

I installed the Geissele SSAE in my Colt and really like it. it's not the match trigger as stated above but it certainly brought my groups together.

I know I want one in a bad way. Now I just need to figure out how bad I want it relative to everything else.

i bought my M&P 15 on a thursday, took it to the range first thing saturday morning, fired 20-30 rounds and decided the factory trigger sucked. by noon that day i was in the geissele hut at camp Perry having a SSA-E trigger installed. i love it, best $200 i have spent on any gun upgrade.

All 4 of my main ARs, including my work gun, have Geisseles. No issues with them, and I like the pull. As you said, not cheap, but once I shot one I was a convert.

Warp,
I would spring for the SSA-E.I have the SSA-E and have shot the SSA,which I didn't find much different than a polished RRA.The SSA-E is a fine trigger and a great improvement over a stock trigger, while retaining all the reliability of the stock unit.

the hi-speed national match is an excellent TARGET trigger.

note that none of the other geissele triggers are as crisp as that one. but they are more for 3gun and military type uses. they don't have the adjustments to make them quite so crisp, but they are also much less likely to fail.

the jp trigger IS a great trigger, and better than the geissele hi-speed for what it is designed to do, but it'd make a poor target trigger. I have a rock river 2-stage trigger with close to 20k rounds on it. (plus a lot more dry firing) they are a good value.

I have used AR Gold and Geissele triggers quite a bit. I agree that they are very nice premium triggers.

But, having used both the AR Gold and Geissele triggers, I chose Wilson Combat triggers for both my AR's (I have TR-TTU-MIL for my M4...and a TR-TTU-M2 for my match rifle). I am extremely impressed with the W.C. triggers.

That said, the RRA 2-stage NM trigger is definitely no slouch. It is, in my opinion, very nearly as clean breaking as any of the premium triggers. Although it is not being used, I am very hesitant to sell off my RRA trigger.

I have the Match Trigger and I have mine set for the 1st stage to 1.5 lbs and 2nd stage at 8oz. It had a positive 1st stage stop and breaks clean.

I also have a limited edition SSA-E I use in my NRA Service rifle. Sweet trigger.

I have had the SSA-E but it didn't suite NRA competition shooting. If I was building a combat or 3-gun I'd buy this trigger again without any further thought.

I have a Geissele SSA-E on my Stag-3 simply made shooting twice as enjoyable, improved groups and it remains consistent over hundreds of rounds well worth the money IMO.

Milspec, keep 'em milspec!

I have three ARs and my wallet keeps telling me this!
Remember, the SSA is the semi auto version of the trigger used by US SOCOM. Doesn't that qualify as "Mil-Spec"? ;)

LINK HERE to description.

I'm a fan of Geissele triggers too. I have SSA triggers in a POF P415 and a Bushmaster and have the Hi-Speed DM trigger in a POF P308. They're well worth the money, and a no brainer if you can buy one at the SHOT show where Geissele offers good discounts.

I took 2012 off from shooting but did put a Geissele trigger in my match ar about a month before perry in 2011. I should of shot ot more and made the mistake of putting most of the weight on the front end with the second stage set real light.
It was great in the off hand and slow prone 600 stage but ended up with a few bad shots low with the light second stage getting back on the trigger to fast in the rapids and it cost me a few points at the nationals.

It still was good enough to make the pres. 100 in 2011 and have not shot it since but you reminded me that I need to take care of that before spring.
