Geissele trigger in an AR

I have the Hi-speed national match trigger in my AR. The only problem is that it will not work with my CMMG 22lr upper, not sure exactly why, but the hammer fails to reset in the cocked position under blow-back.

But I agree, it is an excellent trigger.

Now try a Jewell benchrest trigger.... :)

I have installed close to 100 Geissele triggers in customer guns. They are the best triggers I have worked with hands down. My favorite for varmint hunting is the SD-3G (flat faced trigger) and SSA (personal defense).

what kind of varmints would you use the SD3G on??

when i think 'varmint' i think small targets, 30-300 yards away. SD3G is mostly a run-n-gun trigger for 19" x 30" ipsc cardboard at 5-50 feet

very curious why you would prefer that?

you know you can get the straight shoe on other triggers.

In my opinion the SD-36 trigger is a short reset trigger with a lighter pull than the SSA so it would be my choice for critters such as coyote or prairie dogs. It was designed for running gun but I feel it would work well in many different applications. In the right platform, the trigger is capable of great things. We were shooting clay pigeons at 550 yards with an AR-15 (S3G) installed. It was mostly because of the Noveske barrel but the trigger helped greatly.

How many Wilson Combat TTU triggers have you worked with?

I have worked with one Wilson trigger. I wasn't impressed with it. It had to go back to Wilson because it would not work right when the pins were installed. When it was returned to us, it still had the same problem.

I am still debating whether I want Geissele's Super 3-Gun (S3G) trigger or an AR Gold in my 3-gun rifle.....Maybe once the funds have been accumulated I will have made up my mind.

The Geissele trigger is one of those things that are tough to justify when you do not have one but can't live without once you do.

QFT. I did avoid them for a couple of years, but now that I have one, I am already contemplating when I will outfit my other AR with one.

Yeah...I have been kicking this around also.

Does anyone know...How does this trigger compare with a LMT "2" stage trigger?

Not at all, favorably, ? knows, etc...

I have installed an AR Gold trigger and played with it. I didn't like the mushy reset it had. It was like a S&W M&P trigger where you have no idea when it resets. I like a positive and noticeable "click" when the disconnector grabs.

No comparison. The Geissele is in a totally different league. When I was building the lower for my eventual match service rifle, a co-worker who shot on the Air Force team for several years and placed at Camp Perry basically said "make sure it has a Geissele trigger" and none of the rest matters on the lower and when it comes time to put a really good barrel on it, talk to Compass Lake or White Oak.
