Final put my grubby mits on one today..
I thought the trigger was better than gen4 but far worse than gen3's.
Was not impressed. I'll pass as it was more of a backwards step in evolution IMO.

I tried both the G19 gen5 and the G17 gen5 at my LGS last week. Since they still have the same grip angle, they still won't work for me. Improved trigger, dehorning some sharp edges, some better ergonomics, sights still suck.
For Glock guys, it's improved. I'll stay with my XD 40 sc or my XDm 45 c. I have Trijicon HD sights on them, otherwise stock.

I don't understand why people complain about the sights so much. As I've posted earlier/in other threads, I defend glock's cheap sights because it keeps the unit cost down on a part that most serious shooters replace. Would you rather they put plastic three dots on? You swapped the sights on your HS2000s so I doubt it. Personally I wouldn't. The box/dot works ok and I think it's faster, but ymmv.
I think the grip angle helps keep the gun flatter as well. But again, doesn't work for everyone. There are other options out there for a reason.

I'm impressed, I picked up a new Gen 5 G19 with night sights, and I liked it so much I ordered the G-5,G-17 to go with it, Glock did their homework on these guns, and it payed off, there is nothing not to like IMHO..oh, and the nights sights are Ameriglow, orange ring front...

The grip angle only works for those who are capable of adaptation or were trained to line up the sights before you shoot.
I am always amused at how many people are willIng to admit that they are incapable of tilting their hand just that much further forward. God knows what would happen if these people had to shoot something truly exotic, like a Ruger Mk IV or one of those horrible, unloved Colt Woodsmans. Or a target pistol.
I, as an avid Glock shooter, have absolutely no problem adapting to another handgun with a different grip angle. It's simple, you line up the sight thingies on top of the gun thingy. Apparently I must be far more adaptable than the typical Glock hater.

Oh come on guys, we all know that glock only perfected one thing very well... how to market their tupperware toys.
Glocks aren`t any better than anything else out there. Glock has just as many failures out there as every other gun maker does.
If your saying glock or no gun at all, good for you. But your missing out on a lot of really nice shooting guns available today.
Turn the fanboy attitudes off and just enjoying buying & shooting what you have and be happy with it. No two people shoot the same.
I own SEVERAL brands & model handguns, i have absolutely no favorite gun label... and yes, i own several glocks, but they aren`t my favorite.
I`m not on that "fanbuoy band wagon" like some of you G loyalists are, and i never will be, because there are so many great handguns today.
So can we just knock off the fanboy crap... if you want to argue, go wake up your wife and kids. Ford Chevy Dodge... who cares...get over it.
If your here just to beat up on somebody that dosen`t prefer a glock, dont sit here like your the king of the armchair GLOCK warriors.

Wow, some day I hope to grow up and act like I’m above everyone and smarter than everyone else just like you seem to. You have definitely made a convert of me, I’m gonna go ahead and buy all those other guns I’ve tried and didn’t like just because I want to be able to call other people that aren’t as enlightened as me “fan boys” and “fanbuoys”. But first, I need to Google whatever a “fanbuoy” is. Is it a nautical device powered by the wind?
Honestly, if you were nearly as enlightened as your post shows that you think you are, you not only would not have a problem with people being a fan of their guns, you also wouldn’t have entered and read a thread entirely devoted to Glocks for the sole purpose of whining about people that like Glocks and are perfectly happy liking Glocks.
